Sure is John, the Turkish Clip settles closer to the frame than the Clip on a 6347. It carries more like a long 6318 than a 6347. OH

Thanks, guys. It was the low riding TC that confused me, apparently that being a difference between a 47 and 047. It's a real beauty, B.

That's a splendid Ka-Bar, Dean!! :cool::cool:

...My problem is picking out a single "favorite." I've got a lot of them and they all have their place.
...My most carried overall is a Case 6318. It's a pocket friendly pattern with the rounded bolsters and slim serpentine frame.

...

This one *should* be my favorite. It is certainly my most expensive. A GEC Dixie Stockman. Great blade shapes, carries slim for such a large knife. However, I just haven't ever gotten around to carrying it yet. So many others to choose from. (Pic reused from the dealer I bought it from, GunstockJacksKnives.com. This is the actual knife I received. Hope Barry doesn't mind.)

John, you posted a bunch of superb stockmans, but these two really caught my attention. WOW!!!:eek::thumbup:

OK, here goes:
Moore Maker #5304- long clip, markside sheepfoot nick, love burnt bone.
Queen #49- gorgeous wood, D2 steel.
Tidioute #53- low lying blades, phenomenal ram's horn.
S&M #09- gorgeous long pull clip, great bone, very pocket friendly for a 4" knife.
Case #47- burnt bone, beautiful Damascus steel, 3-spring (no krinked blades)
Fight'n Rooster prototype- magnificent bone, tremendous F&F, best quality (probably my nicest knife, period).
Rough Rider #441- nice stag, super sleek in pocket.
Fight'n Rooster stag- toasty stag and top quality.
Rough Rider #406- unusually endearing reverse Eureka pattern. Not sure exactly why, but anyone who has one, likes it!
Thanks for the additional insights on "wow factors", Jeff!:)

The Stockman has long been my favorite pattern, it's just what size to use that I get hung up on occasionally - most often I prefer the 897UH or 6318 size. Fortunately Schrade USA used to offer a nice variety of frame sizes but Case still does. Buck only offered three frame sizes (307, 301, 303) of Stockman pattern knives, but I do have at least one of each - need a picture of them too. OH

Great photos of your Old-Timers (love the "shield font" on the biggest one) and Case stockmans arranged by closed length, Old Hunter! You have a lot of very desirable steel there!:cool::D

Another old favorite.

That's a beauty, SAK Guy!:thumbup: What size is it?

Thanks for the follow-up, SAK Guy! :) That's a BIG knife (and those paint cans are bigger than I thought :p).

Thanks for the comment! I was looking through this thread from the beginning and noticed that I posted pretty much the same bunch of knife pics back in April when the thread was started. Didn't mean to spam it up with a second batch of the same photos. I did have a couple of new pics in there, though.

GT, thanks for the shout-out; I have really enjoyed collecting up those two batches of knives. OH

SAK, your Schrade-IXL is something else!

Thanks OH!!! Your collection is magnificent esp. The Old Timers!!!:thumbup: OT's are close to my heart!!

Not sure if it's my favorite but I've been enjoying this one a lot lately. It certainly is one of my favorites. Pic was taken when I first got it. Since then I've straightened up the tip on the sheepsfoot blade.

That's a good'n Rick.

Thanks Jeff!

I like the fat Railsplitter Stockman. This one in Rams horn.

Sweet knife, bozack! I have basically the same knife but mine is branded Ontario Rat (Queen made of course). I didn't know there was a Queen branded Railsplitter with Ram's Horn covers and a Pen blade. Would you happen to know the year of production of your Queen?

As much as I like the Case Cattle knife I posted above, I cannot deny the fact that the Railsplitter is my favorite knife with the Stockman blade pattern. It was my favorite pattern when I joined the forums. Then I kind of lost interest in the pattern for a couple years. Bought this 2014 Queen model with a Pen blade in place of the Spey and I'm back in love again. Such a great knife. Meaty. Beefy. Robust. Substantial weight. Just a real nice chunk of a knife. The D2 steel is a favorite of mine too.

My favorite Stockman is my Tuna Valley Railsplitter:

I don't need the spey blade found on many Stockman pattern knives, but I love this mix -- clip, sheepsfoot, and pen. It's a marvelous knife.

The best stockman I have found for my preferences is the gec 81, the proportions and style are as close to perfect as it gets in any custom or production stock I have seen. I have two northfield 81's; one in burnt stag and one in blackwood which is my favorite user knife among all the knives I own, traditional and modern. I have quite a few other brands and versions of stocks that I really love too but they dont get a whole lot of use compare to the 81's. The only thing that would supersede the 81 for me is a custom built off of the same specs but with some slight changes like swedged sheepsfoot and spey blades, half stops, carbon damascus or high speed steel that will patina like m4, and copper bolsters, liners, pins and shield. That would be the real bees knees:thumbup:
