What's you all in 1 survival tool?

I originally planned on this being a fun interesting thread but it somehow turned serious, I was kinda hoping for people with interesting/funny answers like one guy to pop up and say "My all in 1 survival tool would be a spiked sledgehammer!" or something equally unique.

Nothing wrong with a good war hammer. A knife is my preferred tool though. lol. Now a team gemini is a very good all around knife and I've used a couple of them a lot. They are right at that perfect blade length for me 8 to 9.5 inches works very well as a all around blade. Couple that with the normal things I carry in my pockets and on my belt and I can be pretty comfy with less effort than a shorter blade alone.

To state once again this thread is about if you're in a hypothetical survival situation and you only have your wits and 1 tool to be your all in one tool what would it be?

No worries. You had a pretty even chance of getting such a response. Check out the "TacticLOL Knives" thread, it's pretty great.

That's an entirely different premise than the one you proposed in your OP.

Any one of these

What he said. ...I mean my brain not his ... unless he is smarter then me then I want his brain. Can I keep mine as a back up?
As for knives, so many to pick from. I feel it should be a smaller one , you are more likely to have it when needed. BK11.

You guys are hilarious... and I totally agree.

Okay, if I had my knowledge/wits about me as well, I'd honestly be comfortable with with a regular traditional folder. Although I gotta say, those "filter straw" things they make that let you drink water from streams and other sources are pretty cool.

I know "using your head" was probably implied in your OP since after all, who doesn't carry their brain with them, but at first it read to me like, what tool would I choose to make up for lack of skills and knowledge. Thanks for clearing it up.

I'm not much into survival knives but, dang, that knife on my left in the top photo looks cool. I'd take it.

That one rides on my pack in the back of the truck. Its a Newt Martin Apparo, the others in the same pic are also made by him. Tough very well made knives.

My original premise was "What would be your all in 1 survival/bushcraft tool?" and what I just stated essentially is what I had in mind just phrased it wrong so to avoid further confusion and more serious replies going off topic I'm modifying my post.

That's awesome man. I can't afford knives made by smaller/single-person companies (not sure if those are custom which is why I say company) and have to go for more production-y stuff, but that is a knife that may turn me on to survival knives just on aesthetics alone.

BTW, after "brain" my second my effective survival tool is a smart phone with GPS. Then cash.

Now my favorite tool for outdoor recreation is a Vic Alox Farmer.

Sweet man; my big "go to" blade is a TGLB; it fulfills many roles. I like a small Wetterlings hatchet (Wildside Axe) and I just picked up a BK14 for small blade duties which I typically relegated to folders. Some pics for your pleasure:

Gotta say, sounds like useful stuff... big blades are just more fun. ;)

I don't know, but it would have lime green scales, a generally useless blade shape, terrible syeel, and lots of zombie strike force stuff written on the blade. Who needs utility when you can look like a swag zombie killer?

What's that small folder in the first pic? I'd love to have one of those in my pocket if it is a production model of some kind... maybe with some Christmas money..
