whats your all time fav sandwich?

Peanut butter and onion, peanut butter/banana/mayo and a good torta de lengua.... with fresh green chile y cilantro.

You guys are making me drool all over the keyboard!

Here are my picks...

Peanut-butter (extra crunchy) and grape jelly.

BLT (possibly THE perfect sandwich).

Tuna salad on wheat with lettuce, provalone, and jalapeno peppers.

Grilled Mahi with Johnboy & Billy's Grillin sauce.

And believe it or not...the new buffalo chicken sandwich from hardees is actually very tasty.

And for the real poor man...
A simple sliced tomato sandwich with Duke's mayo, salt, and black ground pepper (an excellent quick and light summer sammich...especially with fresh garden picked tomatos).

good old cheeseteak; if it's american cheese, add ketchup. if mozzerella, leave it be. or a bacon cheeseburger from the sandcastle diner in beachwood, nj. honestly, the best i've ever had, but their fries suck. or a turkey club on white toast, no mayo, no tomato.

I forgot to mention roast beef on 'weck, a favorite among the folks around Buffalo, NY:

roast beef
kimmelweck bread rolls sliced in half
horse radish, the kind that will clear your sinuses,
and jus from the roast beef.

As much as Buffalo wings have spread around the country, I'm surprised this sandwich appears to remain a regional favorite only.

Other faves of mine, the club sandwich (more bacon) the Reuben, and those po' boys from New Orleans.

There's a restaurant in Bethesda MD that serves those po' boys, one version is with fried oysters, the other is with fried catfish. Oh my God, it's great to know one doesn't need to spend a fortune to eat well.

One more...

This one uses Black Forest ham, muenster cheese, spinach leaves (or other darker salad greens), slices of vine-ripened tomatoes, and a baguette (French bread).

Assemble to sandwich to your preference of slices, of ham, tomatoes, etc.

The final ingredient which totally made the sandwich was Jack Daniels Honey Dijon mustard. I haven't bought that mustard in a while, so I'm not certain if it was just sold for part of a market test, or what. But if it's still available, it's excellent. It makes Grey Poupon seem lame in comparison, IMO.

Sloppy Roast Beef poboy ( served hot ) or 1/2 Fried Shrimp & 1/2 Fried Oyster poboy.

Story I heard is the Leidenheimer's bakery, which supplies many of the restaurants with the poboy bread, only took a piece of the "mother" when they evacuated. Since then, they have rebuilt the bakery and the mother.

Philly Cheese Steak! (The meat, preferebly sirloin should be marinated in red wine for at least 20 minutes prior to cooking).

For me a good old Vegemite sandwhich:D + toated bacon and cheese, taste better when someone else makes it:)

Well, I love Montecristo's, but nothing brings me back to my childhood like a good, homemade BLT.

My all time favorite is peanut butter and apple butter. Followed by the peanut butter and banana sandwich. Damn it's suppertime...

Best sandwich all time has got to be the Reuben at Katz's deli in lower east side, NYC.

But to be less specific, either a grilled cheese w/ jalapenos, or a 3/4 inch thick meatloaf sandwich w/ ketchup... any takers?

Another vote for the Monte Cristo, but without the sugar and jam. Now I am hungry! But now I have lots of great lunch ideas!

Thor

Damn, I haven't had a monte cristo sandwich in years, I don't even know of a restaruant that serves one. Never heard of it with powdered sugar and jam though.

When I go out to eat I like a good ruben. I had a good one I couldn't finish half of at a deli near Madison square garden, Awesome sandwich! I had Hot pastrami on rye at the Carnegie (probably spelled that wrong) deli too, Awesom sandwich

When I make a sandwich at home, some faves are
Kowalski Kielbasa loaf on home made english muffin, with miracle whip, american cheese and letuce.

I make my own buffalo chicken sandwich
Slice boneless chicken breast thin and marinate in hotsauce with garlic over night. Grill on a rippin hot grill and when you turn it melt some good Bleu cheese on it. serve on a hoagie roll with letuce.

Cold Meatloaf on white bread with mayo. I just found this new sweet pickle relish that has Chipolte peppers and adobo mixed, awesome on a meatloaf sandwich!

I do like a nice slopy joe. manwich bold makes a pretty good one. I like the coleslaw idea, I will give that a try.

Loose burger, Ground beef browned with onion and wostershire sauce added. Pile some of that in a hot dog bun and melt cheese over it MMMMMMMM good!

Of course any good sandwich deserves a top rate pickle.
Tony Packos makes some good Sweet hot pickles. A nice garlicly dill wedge is good. Gotta buy them whole, they are crunchy every bite.

I'm shocked nobody mentioned the spagetti sandwich.

Mine is definetly hot Pastrami on Rye. For number two I would have to go back 20 something years to DC. There was a little deli near the navy yard that had a sandwich called the G-Man add peppers for an Extra hot G-Man and it was near heaven! Steven

Im was doing well on my diet till i came across this damn thread. Im a sandwich freak ...damnnnn well one little blt wont hurt.:D

My all time favorite sandwhich is a BLT,on lightly toasted white, with mayo, and avacado.

Lots of people have mentioned BLT's, I like them, but only from a certain restaurant. Really more of a carryout. Weitzels, in Ocean City, served up some shitty food, but their wings, jalapeno poppers and BLT's were really good. Their BLT's were of course, just bacon, lettuce and tomato, with mayo, but they were the best I've ever had. Shame they're not around anymore. Made money hand over fist, but I guess their lot was worth more.
