What's your at work knife and your occupation?

Overhead crane tech; basically electrician, millwright, and ironworker rolled into one.

I carry a Para 2 in my right thigh pocket, Small Sebenza 21 in right hip pocket, and I have an Izula zip tied to my the left shoulder strap of my safety harness. All 3 get used for different tasks, but it's definitely the Para 2 that's gets the brunt of the workload. I also have a Leatherman Charge TTi in the left thigh pocket and the rescue cutter hook on the serrated blade is massively convenient for dressing cable and cutting zip ties.

I work for a company that provides gernerators and portable HVAC for events (parties, weddings & concerts). I carry a Fiddleback Forge Bushboot or a Barkriver Journeyman. I cut a lot of zip ties and strip a lot of cable.

Registered Nurse. I wear scrubs, and I carry my Spyderco Military in my back pocket, small sebenza in my right front pocket, and a Victorinox Super Tinker SAK in my pocket.

Truth be told, I dont get much use out of them at work, but i'd feel naked without them.

bean counter here.. carry nothing at work other than a peanut in my desk drawer. benchmades on the weekend. :-)

Job: Graduate student researcher, experimental physics, university laboratory.

Knives: Up to this point, Victorinox SAK Swiss Champ (6 years - since start of college). Currently deciding on some new options for EDC (Benchmades, Spydercos, and maybe the SwissTool Spirit). Picking new knives is fun.

Cheers.

Man, I can't stand my keys in my scrub pockets never mind 3 knives!

I spend my day throwing hip and knee arthritis into a trash can and replacing it with cobalt chrome, titanium, polyethylene and tantalum. My knife of choice at work is a #10 blade on a scalpel handle. The best part is I don't have to ever sharpen it. I just ask for someone to give me a "fresh blade" and hand them the dull one!

Ha! I'm with you. I'm really thinking about leaving the military at home, but I just can't seem to do it.

The sebenza comes in handy sometimes, and the SAK is a bloody wondertool, when all else fails.

My main business (seasonal) is basically exterior wood restoration---clean and stain decks/docks/wood siding etc... but during this off season I was hired @ John Deere working on the assembly line.

As a rule I'm pretty much a slip joint guy but the pace is fast and there's many many times when we are assembling machines for export that a lot of cardboard is need to go between metal parts to prevent rubbing of the paint while being shipped overseas. The retractable safety knife provided falls pretty short when compared to the Tenacious for the cardboard cutting chores :(

For convenience sake this Spyderco Tenacious is absolutely great for the cardboard task---even tho it gets an every other night pass on the sharpmaker the 8cr13mov is proving to be a very adequate steel. The Tenacious is cheap, well built, rugged and an overall great knife. I tweaked the handles with a cone shaped bit with my dremel to give it kind of a stone like appearance which also adds to the grip aspect also:thumbup:

My other EDC is a Case 1976 #6292 large Texas Jack---it's primary chore takes care of food prep during breaks.

As a student: Whatever I feel like, usually Lone Wolf Longhorn, Kershaw Lahar VG10, and/or Meyerco Wharning.

As a slave to the state: Just one of the above but it stays either in the jacket pocket or back pocket with the jacket on. I'm not too worried about people in the office seeing me, rather, the insane security/insane people outside the office.

It's really awesome to see so much diversity here on the BF! I've got 13 years in law enforcement. Currently an SRT operator/ counter-drug. I EDC a Case Sodbuster Jr, a Leatherman Juice, and one of many 3" to 4" fixed blades.

I'm currently carrying this one:

I have a utili key on my key ring that gets used all the time. Work, home, out and about. I have a nice wenger that I should probably keep close at hand but leave it in my survival kit.

I own my own business. I do work as a commercial photographer and also still do some work as a producer, gaffer, and photo assistant.

My work varies from day to day. Some days I will build sets, which can involve framing walls, hanging dry wall, pouring concrete, and basic electrical task. Other days I am shooting all day, or at the computer all day. My work takes me from urban environments to extreme conditions. My EDC consist of a Leatherman Wave and up until today a cheap Gerber knife. Today I replaced the Gerber with a ZT0350 which I think will serve my needs a lot better.

As a gaffer you can carry pretty much any knife you want and no one will say anything about it. The ZT0350 will not stick out to anyone.

I work as a supervisor/manager of a landscaping company.I carry a Cold Steel Voyager Large Tanto (2011 version) ,Condor Barong Machete and a Bowie Knife with 8" blade, sometimes I switch off with different machetes & bowies every other week.

I'm an archaeologist. My daily carry varies depending on where I'm working. When in the field doing survey, reconn or site clearing work, I carry/use my original straight handle Busse Battle Mistress, and a Doizer guide. Depending on the vegetation, I'll swap out the Dozier with my Falkniven A1.

When in the lab looking at artifacts, I usually carry/use an old Schrade utility scout knife, along with a stockman (Mooremaker, Schrade or S&M/Queen), or older Schrade jack.
