Currently mine is a ZDP-189 Caly 3. I have high hopes for a Small Sebenza which will be shipped to Tom Krein for one of his Re-grinds however.

My VG-10 Caly 3. My ZDP-189 Caly 3 arrives tomorrow, so it will be interesting to compare. My small Sebenza is probably the worst slicer I've ever had (except perhaps for an MOD Hornet).

I made a blade with a .5mm thick spine and sharpened it at <5degrees per side lol, so I guess that.

Easily my S30V UKPK, then again it's basically the same as the Caly3's listed above.

My best slicer? A Benchmade 733-01. You wouldn't think so with it's blade shape and all.... but it is.

Fallkniven U2.

Those thin blades are where the magic starts - Fallkniven U2, SAKs, small Case slipjoints and so forth.

My Boker Subcom has a remarkably efficient slicing blade for being so small.

In regards to larger knives, my Caly3, Military, and BM/DR RSK Mk1 Griptilian are also inherently efficient slicers.

I have a U2 on order and it should arrive in the next few days. It was CutleryLovers Youtube video review on this knife that got me thinking about about this thread.....

Opinel is the best I've ever used in the field. It's on par with, or better than, the Victorinox blades. Much better than any of the modern black-plastic tactical knives, and noticeably better than other traditional knives I've used.

In the kitchen, my vote goes to the Wasabi Nakiri.
