What's your camp knife?

91Bravo, tell me your opinion on that BK21 please, I also have one with modded Micarta handles. I'm more of a Busse user, I have tried chopping pine wood with the Bk21, it just felt awkward in the hand and I felt the impact more than with my other choppers, such as my Fusion Battle Mistress. I'm thinking that it will make a fine brush clearer so I'll use it for that most likely.

We did a lot of family camping with the kids, when they were tiny tots, just using a Buck 110.

These days they are older, we do wilder camping and there is an array of items: axe, folding saw, fixed blades. But the 110 still comes along. My wife is fond of it, as am I.

LT Wright GNS or Outback or Becker BK15 or an Esee 6HM most often I guess you could consider camp knives ... as far as doing anything from food prep to woodcraft (no batoning) ... but I switch off and depends what kind or camp and time of year of where and why I'm in camp.

If you are asking about what larger knife I use for basically any chore including making camp and processing wood etc ... then an Esee Jungla a Becker BK5 and a Becker BK9 ... hopefully soon a CPK HDFK ... more my heavy use knives for anything my normal carry knifes aren't the best option.

Is that BK15 one you sandblasted? And if it is ... is it just sandblasted or how did you finish it up ?

All of yall's camp knives look cherry! :D I have quite a variety of blades that I will backpack in with me to our primitive site.

It's a great knife! There's a slight learning curve in using it. I see a lot of folks smacking the side of the blade when chopping. There is less room for error in the plane of the chop.

All blades are subject to their use. I don’t have one that is used exclusively. My three are this:

Bradford Guarduan M390.
Lon H. Kephart in forged 3V.
Busse DS8.

These are chosen for size, weight, and all around use. I would always have an SAK in my pocket - Pioneer or Harvester would be my choice.

Backpacking for weeks/long haul. Victorinox Deluxe Tinker and 4" blade puukko I crafted from a Lauri PT blade.
Rich

Rtak2, swamprat mountainmandu, fallkniven s-1, and CS trailhawk.
I forgot to add I always take a smaller blade like the rat 3 limited edition d2 with walnut scales and leather sheath, or a buck open season small game in s30v.
