what's your claim to fame?

Slightly off topic, but relevant because Becker folks are awesome, and I imagine this will produce some interesting posts!

Saw this done on my favorite gun forum, where it was kicked off more or less as:

What's something you've done that very few others (or even nobody else) has done?

People responded with all manner of stuff, from things like:

Mooned AF1 in 1992

to:

Gave Joan Jett a skeet lesson at NAS Oceana skeet and trap range

Unfortunately, I lead a boring life, so can't really kick this off with anything worth reading. I'm positive others here have done some pretty interesting stuff, though!

So, what's your claim to fame?

What if we made it relevant to here? For instance, what was a mod or something different you did with your knife that no one or few others did, or started doing after you did it? Might get more responses that way.

For instance, I was the first to do this:

Pretty sure that is the first 3D modeled and made accessory box for a BK2 in existence. Well, that one is the second one, the first is in the possession of Ethan. I may or may not have been the first to piggyback an Eskabar onto a BK2 the way I did as well, but I don't really care about that one.

So what do the rest of you have? I have seen some cool stuff done on here. Daizee's bottle opener on the frankenbecker strikes me as a first. Anyone else got anything?

Makes sense, Derek... Guess I was thinking in terms of, e.g., the "Beckerheads, Post Up Those New Year's Resolutions" thread. That one's not really about Becker stuff, so much as it's a way for Becker folks to get to know each other better. Same idea here.

I agree, though -- if this thread will get more hits if we talk about knife stuff that we've done, that nobody else has, then I'm all for it. :-) Thanks for getting us started!

I touched Ashley Simpson's boob once. At a concert as she made her way through the crowd. Ok it was brushed up against me, so really ashley simpson touched me with her boob. I don't even know if Ryan Cabrera has done that. Pete Wentz sure but Ryan I don't think so.

Oh and I put a swedge on a bk2 once that was pretty nifty.

I once organized a high wire show for Philippe Petit (the guy who walked between the Twin Towers) in Paris; from Trocodéro to the Eiffel Tower in '89.

Don Rickles once said "Hi, kid." to me as I passed him in a hallway in Vegas. My folks were at the slots and I had the run of the city (I was 10 or 11 at the time). Saw Rickles walking and said "Hi Mister Rickles!" as I was on my way to scavenge a pile of Bunny Ranch flyers for some me-time in the hotel but not before blowing all my money at the arcade and then breaking into the dry-at-the-time waterpark to skateboard in the pools.

Ah, Vegas.

Then I modded my BK11.

THE END.

I've sacked Tony Romo (more than once). Of course, that list of people continues to grow quickly, so it's not as cool as it was a few years ago!

Knife related...I was at the knife counter a couple days after Christmas at the Cabela's in Allen, TX. I asked if they carried any Becker knives and they guy asked if I meant Boker. I said no, Becker Knife & Tool, made by Kabar. He said he'd never heard of them, since they didn't carry them. The other guy working the counter came over and asked what model I was looking for and pulled out the Kabar catalog. We started looking at the Becker knives and had 3 other shoppers standing there discovering these amazing camping knives. He said he'd ask about carrying them, but since I live in Wisconsin, I didn't ask him to look into special ordering something.

I used to hang in hollywood as a kid alot and I remember motley crue sitting outside the troubadour handing out fliers, vince neil handed me one and i crumbled it up and threw it on the floor all the while saying they were a bunch of posers..

i'm in the hollywood paladium video with ozzy during his first show coming out of retirement..

later in life i met vince neil :D I also had nikki sixx so mad he wanted to stop a show just to thrash me, or something... :D

and my infamous al bundy moment, I was going to play bass for warrant but was derailed by my previous bands vocalist... :(

played a national circuit with the bulletboys...

i sat behind christy alley in a denny's and never said a word to her while everyone else was ecstatic:foot:

there's a bunch more but I'm sure many people have done one thing or another, can't really single out you're the 'only one'...

other mentions may put put someone in jail... :p or worse....

I jimped a bk9 to match... :) I broke the tip off one of my knives to examine grain structure for a post heat treat metalurgy chemistry type experiment :D

I did nothing with my knives but ....I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night ! :D

Put my BK 2 through a TV - prob. not too many that stupid eh ? (LOL)

One of my warclubs is on permanent display in a local museum operated by our state historical society.

Speaking of Joan Jett and reading the reposes reminded me that I have, in fact, touched Joan Jett. Front row at a concert back in the day.

Regarding Becker, I broke my Tac-Tool splitting wood by hitting the tool with the back of a hatchet. Having done it on several occasions, I though this was an appropriate use of the tool. Til it broke...

I did the logo artt for the Cherokee National Holiday here in '93 when I was 18. It was on all the shirts and programs. Then partied with a bunch of metal bands and game a coworker my necker and started him down the path to carry'n a knife every day and he has since started his own collection.

Well heck, looks like I was wrong, plenty of hits with non-knife stuff.

My parents had Daryl Hannah stay with them last year at some point. Turns out she is a hippie, and around here, when it comes to bein hippies, my parents are tops. I didn't get to meet her though, but they said they will let me know next time so I can. I did meet Morgan Spurlock (The guy behind that movie Supersize Me) on a plane once. He was pretty cool. Turns out he is from the town I am living in, and his sister in law works with The Misty (my lady).

If you guys ever watched a special on Nat-Geo a while back called ''Alone in the wild'' you would of saw a man named Ed Wardle try to survive alone in the wild for three months,it was extreemly hard on him due to the fact that he is not trained in any survival skills at all leading him to quit a little early.Well i ended up talking to him on Face Book back when he only had about 40 friends and after a while we ended up becoming really good freinds.I even talked to Nat-Geo for him about shooting part two of Alone in the wild because he was afraid they would shoot it down and in result of me talking to them they scored him a meating here in the States. They never decided to do a part two but he ended up getting some other work for Nat-Geo,oh yea i forgot to mention that he is the producer for their show Everest beond the limets. cool huh! please forgive my typing im typing faster than i can think lol

Back in the 90s I met and hung out with Ron Jeremy while I was on holiday in LA. Nicest guy you ever met. And he truly loves his work. Later that evening he got me in the Viper Room. Where I met and partied with more star posers than I can count.... Just weeks after that River Phoenix died there. Now writing this I feel growing old is much closer than farther... But I digress

Back in 1996..... Working as hunting manager at bass pro shops in Baltimore..... Pres Bush and the owner of bass pro shops... John L Morris were visiting each other in Washington dc.... They Decided to head to winter Olympics..... They were needing some outdoor gear for the cold weather..... We got the call to pull long John's, hand warmers, socks and other gear.... Headed down to a hotel in dc..... But only got to deliver the package to the secret service..... Lol

I got to do an impersonation of pretty much all of our officers and Staff NCO's at our Warrior night . Included in that was our Company XO who was the Commandant's son(he was there too) and R. Lee Ermey(impersonated him too, horribly).
