  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

what's your claim to fame?

This is family friendly right ? ..lol

Um I hung out with Sir Peter O'toole when he was doing the narration of Peter and the Wolf at the Hartford Civic center.
His table was right in front of ours and whenever he wasn't narrating he was talking with me and my fam, was pretty amazing. I was maybe 11 years old.

I met Gordie Howe and talked with him a while when I was a kid.

Bonnie Raitt dedicated a song to me in concert, when she was famous the first time..lol before her disappearance and comeback.

Met Don Johnson when I was a young teen and he named a char after me in Nash Bridges, although I doubt he will admit the naming part heh.

I was the guy who started the left ear piercing craze in the 80s, it was me... Hate all you want but I started Grunge back then too.

Hi flivver -

I am one of the rafter monkeys at the United Center for Bulls Games - I launch and catch Benny the Bullimp.

I've stood on the fairwater plane of a Los Angeles (SSN 705) class submarine doing 18 knots (on the surface!) in the middle of the Mediterranean sea.

my whole life... man... rock star ;)

i've a more than a few interesting incidents, but really, they're kinda my special moments to ruminate over.

so, you gotta buy me a beer at least.

oh, hey, i know Ethan Becker ;)

I've witnessed exorcisms(as crazy as the exorcist)And discovered a major gold deposit/vein in an undisclosed river(video footage to follow up this spring. and drowned while white water river rafting on the deschutes river(unfortunatly not mouth to mouth with a female). And recently as of the day before yesterday added a drop leg strap on my stock bk 9 sheath.

Met the guys from Orange County Choppers on the way back from Vermont once. Pretty nice guys, especially Mikey and Vinnie. Paul Jr. is as arrogant as he appears on TV.

Daizee's bottle opener on the frankenbecker strikes me as a first. Anyone else got anything?

OMG, I've been referenced. Immortality!!
So there's that.

I've been involved in two or three international maritime incidents (that I can remember).

Silver, you didn't grow up in HFD, did you?

-Daizee

Shook hands with President Bill Clinton and shook hands/chatted with Ross Perot when I was in high school. Oh wait, you said claim to FAME, not lifelong disappointments....

Daizee In fact I grew up in Newington, Glastonbury, Newhaven, and other assorted locations around CT ..lol but lots and lots of time in Hartford.

Heh.
I was just telling someone last night that I stopped following Hockey when the civic center collapsed on the Whalers' stadium in '78. (of course I was barely out of diapers, but whatever)

After setting up a target to shoot at up on top of Half Moon Ridge I was asked by the daddy rabbit of BK&T to guess how far it was.I looked over at Moose then back at the target, studied on it for a minute and the made a SWAG and turned to the inquisitor and said 57 yards.Ethan pulled out his phone and using the range finder app.(who in sam hill knew a cell phone could do that?)announced 56 yards.

I once did a Krylon paint can from a thousand yards out with a rifle shot in high winds.

After practicing exiting an aircraft all day by arching my back at an Accellerated Free Fall class I proceeded to jump from a King Air at 14,400 and assumed a perfect posture for jumping from a C130.Both instructors were torn loose and I saw ground sky, ground sky, ground sky, before I arched and got into the relaxed frog posture which got me flying right. The first thing the head instructor said after I made a dynamic plf by sliding in on my ass was"dammit I always forget to ask my classes if anybody has jumped in the military".

OK bear with my coz this is going to come over all Australian like:

I grew up in Melbourne and one summer when I was about 15 my parents took my brother and I to an international cricket match between England and Pakistan at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (85,000 capacity). My younger brother and I headed down to the fence before the game to try and snag an autograph or two. One of the top Pakistani batters walked over to us and said, "can either of you bowl?" Then he invites me on to the playing arena and I spend about fifteen minutes throwing down practice bowls to this guy.

Up in the stands, Mum asked Dad, "Can you see the boys?"

Dad answers, "Ummm I think #1 son is bowling to Qasim Omar."

(Think of being invited to throw practice pitches to Derek Jeter at Yankee Stadium before a game and you'll get the idea)

umm natalie portman used to attend family parties of mine because she was best friends with my cousin. before i knew who she even was i had a crush on her when i was about 10 years old.

i then later attended a wedding with her when my cousin was married. I'm my boring life that was exciting

I was featured in the book "Tomahawks- Traditional to Tactical" by David Grant for my work on combat hawks and advice for his book- history of Naval and historical hawk use.

I shot a man in Reno, just to watch him die.

I was in Springfield to watch Obama announce his candidacy for president a few years ago. That was kinda cool.

Also, I once built a log cabin with a Becker Necker.

Richard Dean Anderson almost ran me over when I was 13. Oh yea! Tell your friends.

Edit for clarification: My fault! Didn't hit me. Was very cool!
