I'm fairly comfortable with my woods combos... Now I'm trying to square away my my edc..in my mind an edc should be able to handle daily cutting tasks, but should also be able to perform woods duty while on an impromptu hike for example...I also think it shoujld be fairly sheeple friendly in appearance and pocketable.. opinels. saks pocket fixed blades.. whatcha got? what do you like about'em what do you hate about 'em? and let's get your thoughts on what an edc knife should be ...

As long as your not in a big city, (which I am not) a moras a good choice because you can cut anything and not feel bad about getting your knife "dirty" :D:p

other than that i carry my leatherman wave. Its a very good knife!

Either my Ritter Grip or JK mini bushcrafter. Depending on whether I can get away with a fixed blade or not.

Case, Amber bone, CV, Texas Jack. Can't say there is anything I don't love about this knife. Small enough that I forget it's in my pocket, even in a suit, yet it's 2.5in. main blade handles just about anything I throw at it, with the proper technique of course. Small blade stays razor sharp, for those really fine/intricate tasks. The blades are nearly black by now, this is an old picture.

In the woods, hunting/fishing, hiking, or camping, it is my convexed Cara Cara. very light, very sturdy, and quite sharp.
Good luck!

Junk Yard Dog II Titanium. I have a lot of nice folders but this one always ends up in my pocket.

Well, I've been EDCing my Barkie Tusk now for well over a week as part of my 60 day one knife experiment and I'm still lovin' it. Its been to the woods twice and to the office every day and its dang near perfect. I've used it in the office a couple of times in front of other people and it only once drew a second look but no comment. The blade shape just has a utility look to it

Here's my previous review and pics.

I EDC'd a Leatherman Charge Xti for 2 years, then moved to a Griptilian, which made me quickly want a Ritter Grip. I LOVE it!

I'm also EDC'ing a Lone Wolf D2. Autos are legal here, and the knife is just amazing overall. It's take a good beating so far.

I'm looking at getting a smaller set of Leatherman pliers so my main knife can have some company.

If I had to pick between the Ritter and the D2, I'd go with the Ritter. But man, the D2 is such a great slicer, fits my hand great, and is just awesome to mess with (as is the Ritter w/ the axis lock).

L!

For the last couple weeks I've been carrying a Boker Sub-Claw & a BM14205.I'll switch the 14205 with a Spyderco Volpe,or a CRKT M-2,M-4,CB Leek,G10 Cara-Cara...etc, once in awhile, but it usually always goes back to the BM14205.Also added my Harner 3V necker to the rotation.I put on a pocket clip, cause I can't stand anything dangling around my neck.

I like to have different blades on me,like a wharncliff a hawkbill & a drop point,so I can choose the proper tool for the job at hand.

I don't think of knives as SD tools.I have other stuff for that.;)

BM 943, Vic Spirit, occasionally an Opinel #7 or 8. Rarely will I carry a FB for EDC, but this new knife I just got from Mike Adams (O1 drop point, blade length 2 7/8", OAL 6 5/8") may just change that. If I'm doing projects around the house, a Mora 911.

Lately in town, at minimum, I carry a tiny SAK Classic and Tinkerer with high intensity LED lights attached. Both are quite sheeple friendly & the combo will do a lot of tasks. I also carry a Spyderco Native quite a bit for cutting jobs that are a little tougher. - - I've got lots of other knives, but these seem currently to be used the most. - - In the woods youll find me with my stainless Brit Army pocket knife and a fixed blade with a Scandi (often puukko style) or convex edged knife. - -

Great looking edge!

For school and work, I carry a Spyderco Delica 4 waved. Good little knife with comfortable handles and sharp edge.

For everything else, I carry a RC prototype Izula, convexed and sheathed by Ban.

How I've been carrying it lately.

I really like this knife, slim enough to slip into my pocket or wear around the neck, and with tek-lok, I can carry it however I like on my belt. Plus it's nice and stout so I know I can use it hard confidently.

My everyday tasks include jockeying a desk for the most part so my EDC fits my bill perfectly and would even work on a SHORT hike if needed.

And, yes, it's scratched to hell. It gets used quite regularly. The scratches on the tip of the large blade happened before I learned to sharpen correctly. This knife has been around me for a while. :)
