what's your edc knife?

I normally EDC one of two blades:

Spyderco Manix for days when I am wearing Levi's and untucked shirt.

Victronix Classic for days when I am wearing Dockers or shirt is tucked in and Manix would be too heavy or obvious.

I also carry a Wenger Esquire as pictured above, but I consider that more of a keychain than a knife.

a certain Case bonestag large stockman or a pioneer trapper made by great eastern cutlery have been in my pocket the last couple of months.

sometimes when i'm wearing sweat pants or a swimsuit it will be a 2 layer SAK or a small Case equal end pen (think Eisenhower pattern without the etching on the blade)

i tend towards the larger patterns, i like to the long blade length for food prep events...i like the stockman because it lets me have long and short blades in one knife, but i use the main clip about 80% of the time, and mostly keep the other blades in reserve for when i need a sharp edge. the clip i let get a little dull, still plenty sharp for my EDC needs though. i like the trapper because it has longer blades and the springs lock up like bank vaults, very sturdy. it feels almost like a fixed blade once its opened.

Always on me...SAK Tinker or Schrade Uncle Henry

Tinker here as well... and a Leatherman PST with home made blunt nose pliers :D

I wish I could have imprupt hikes just like you mentioned... I live in a fair big city.

Victorinox Pocket Pal and Farmer, Fisher Space Pen Bullet, Fallkniven TK4 in 3G with attached LMF scout firesteel, and sometimes either a pink Spyderco Delica4 in VG10, or a black Spyderco Calypso JR in ZDP189.
And quite often my BRKT PSK knife.
On my keychain is an Uncle Bills Sliver Gripper and a Photon Freedom Micro red LED light.

"the clip i let get a little dull, " -siguy..... LOL, I have a feeling your dullest blades are 10 tme sharper than most of our sharpest ones....I'm trying to decide between a small fb and an opinel at the moment..

I switch between a CRKT M-16, SAK Camper, and a Kershaw Leek (if I can get it back from my wife sometime soon)

i EDC a benchmade mini-griptillian or my scibeer modded farmer... more often than not, i also EDC a small fixed blade... a BRKT little creek or mikro canadian...

I switch between a few, but of the ones I have, I like my Case yellow mini trapper the best. The shape lends itself well for riding next to my wallet in my back pocket when I'm not wearing jeans, the turkish clip and spey blade combo handles plenty of tasks, and it seems to be just the right size to be useful in a general utility role, but not too heavy or scary-looking.

I carry this little kit ALL the time, and add a naked PSK jr. for woods walkin'.

Only thing I EDC in pocket is sometimes a SAK Rucksack.

My normal EDC is a Gerber 600 ProScout and a Ka-Bar Mule on my belt.
If I MUST kowtow to sheeple, I replace the Mule with a Buck 110. I never give in to the point of not having a knife on my belt.

Victorinox Explorer in the pocket, plus a locking folder of some type - Endura, for example. The folder isn't exactly needed, but gives me instant deployment which I find very useful.

I'd like to find a small fixed blade (BRKT PSK sized, for example) in a small, minimalist kydex belt sheath, but my search for that one continues.

:)

I've found for me a Busse Leaner Mean Street and a Leatherman XTi make the perfect combo...like others I try to have the right tool for the job at hand.

(4" strong fixed blade, 3" "beater" blade, 3" serrated sheep foot)...got 'em all.

I rotate all kinds of folders, but I always have my David Farmer EDC and Victorinox huntsman. The Farmer has a 3.5" blade and cocobolo handle.

I recently dropped the locking folder from my pocket EDC. There's one in my back-pack, but the only knife in my pocket now is the Vic Spartan in my Mission Wallet. Also in the MW is a Leatherman Squirt E4 and a 1xAAA LED.

I dropped the locking folder (Benchmade 940) because while I liked it, I found myself actually using the Spartan more often. The 940 was/is great for one hand opening convenience, but in 95% of apps, the Spartan would have made the cut just as well, so I reduced my EDC by one knife.

On work days I carry a Mcusta Yori and a Victorinox Midnight Manager.

On evenings a Victorinox Woodsman and a Browning (Mcusta) Ice Storm.

On weekends it's a Boney Active Duty, Leatherman Wave, and a Large Sebenza (Sundays only).

I'm leaning toward swapping out the Boney Active Duty for my Swamp Warden as soon as I can find a way to carry it.

For weekdays (urban carry) I want a real slicer- something that will hold an edge a long time without sharpening, sturdy, but shepple friendly, and under 3.5 inches. The Mcusta works great for me and also doubles as a gentleman's knife. People aren't afraid of it because they spend so much time admiring how pretty it looks, and it feels solid as a rock. I also want a few small tools for the unedpected and the Midnight Manager has screwdrivers, nail file, LED, and a pen all in the smallest package available.

If I'm going out on evenings or weekends I want all of the same requirements but sturdier. At work I may have to slice open boxes, envelopes, plastic, rubber, cloth, but I haven't had to work with wood in years. On weekends, it's a different story so I always want a decent saw and a pair of pliers to round things out.

Victorinox Soldier or if need for locking folder - Lone Wolf T1 with rosewood handles. Also a Vic Classic SD for the scissors. If I can have a sheath on my belt - it would be the Buck 110.
