What's your favorite Becker

Can somebody take a look at prepared mind 101 video "big bag of blades" part 2. The last knife is a bk1 brute. I'd like ta know what finish is on it. I like it. It looks stripped. Not sure if it's blued. Has a lite color to it. On you tube. Thanks
From what I've seen in his other videos he likes to blue em and then sand it with really fine grits, likely 2k.

I like the way it looks. I've seen vids where the knife was blued. The blueing got all messed up when batonning. Prepared mind101 bk1 doesn't even get s mark on it. It's shiny like it was stripped then polished. But does have a of color to the steel

You do not want to ask any of the long term Beckerheads to watch or discuss anything from PM101. Trust me.

spazcsmc, you have an edit feature if you want to add something to your last comment. If you leave a string of separate short posts, you risk bringing down the wrath of the mods for "spamming" the thread. Just a heads up.

Ok thanks. I'm still trying to learn how ta use this site. Using the tap talk. Ok just found the edit button. I'm starting ta get it thank u

That's likely due to the fact most of his blades don't see much if any use...other than the freebies his obligated to give a good review on.

About the only time I watch one of his videos if it's a cheap knife I'm interested in and I can't find much else on it... He gets those free usually so he'll actually beat on it lol

I'd much rather watch something from Gideon or Tactical...they generally actually use there knives.

I prefer Nutnfancy but he doesn't give much love to Beckers. I have noticed that PM 101 does love to strip any knives with a coating... In reference to my fav Becker that would be my BK7. I haven't gotten to beat on it too badly yet, but the handle is comfortable while using. Good size, not too small, and not too big for my uses (looking at you, BK9). ;)

My biggest problem with allot of the "survival" and "Bushcraft" knife review channels are the ones demonstrating don't have a clue what they're doing. I've watched several channels where there showing how the knife performs chopping, batoning, and carving or trying to teach the audience how to do things...like feathersticks for example I've seen several how too's and knife reviews where the person clearly had no clue how to do what they were attempting to teach...they shave off a couple flakes of wood and are all wow this knife makes feathersticks a breeze lol

Then one I seen take a bk2 and did a chop test..they basically tapped the knife on a piece of 1x for like 10 minutes made a half inch notch on the wood and was saying this bk2 is an excellent chopper.

There's too many self proclaimed survivalist experts on you tube these, and the crap there teaching will end up getting someone killed if they end up in a bad situation and go by what these posers taught em.

Anyway back on topic, what's your favorite Becker and why?

I have 4 Beckers. The 2, 7, 14, and 24. (The 9 keeps poking me in the ribs. I have not been able to justify the purchase yet.)

I love my BK24. Just something about it. I use it the most. The edge in the picture looks kind of funky. I think it is the light.

I never even liked orange scales at ALL and when I ordered the pair (black and orange) I never saw myself using them. But I think they look like a natch on the 24.

Im pretty sure Ethan even called him out on that in person that his knife looked like it had never been used lol

Side note - I'm pretty sure he is an inactive beckerhead ( something like c tanner)

Back to the point of the thread though

My favorite if I could only keep one would probably be the bk2 - it's one knife that I don't think I would find an alternative that would keep me happy - that being said, I haven't tried all the beckers yet so I must continue my search to own one of each ( or 2 hehe) so I can provide the best answer possible

I stopped trying to justify a purchase along time ago when it comes to beckers. Better ta get it and have it than not get it and don't have it. Nice bk 24

PM101 is not well likes around here, you could find out pretty easily by using the search bar so I'll just leave it at that.

I am pretty sure he dosnt own a brute. I have seen the video you're talking about and I'm pretty sure the blade in question is a tops armegeddon

Bobby, I agree..... Many discount BK2 but like yourself it is a sweet knife that you can always rely on. However, I must say there is an equivalent in its class, but only (1) in the Esee 5 which I also own. Pretty much the same other than personal preferences.... BK2 is a sweet blade no one will ever convince me otherwise. TD

I've never used an esse5, seemed redundant when I already own 2 bk2s lol
