Whats your favorite Buck knife

Pocket - 503
Coat pocket - Folding Strider
Hunting - 102, 105, 118
Suitcase - 120 (don't ask me why)
Walking the lab - 112 (not a big 110 fan)
Waiving at the polititians on tv - 119

Considering the few Bucks I have (I think 20 or so), I gotta figure the 112 for me. I bought the 110 and do like it - also love the Alpha, but I keep going back to the 112. Now this may all change if I get a Northshore - been wanting one for a while........

My all time favourite Buck knife, (up until now!) is the 184 Buckmaster. Wanted one since I first saw it as a boy. Was finally lucky enough to pick one up in very good condition and absolutely love it. Complete beast of a knife and a good example of why Buck have the solid reputation they do: over-engineered to a fault. I do believe the Buckmaster would survive a direct nuclear explosion!
Other favourites include the 110, (of course!) which gets EDC duties, and for looks and practicality, the 120 General that is now in my girlfriend's possession.

Pack Rat; My girlfriend is indeed in possession of the 120. She also has a SOG SEAL pup elite that I got her for her christmas, and seems to be eyeing up a Randall boot dagger at the moment! Thus far I remain safe and intact!

On the plus side it means that unlike others here, I get less of a hard time over wanting more knives. I just have to worry that she may take a shine to one of them and pull the puppy dog eyes :(

So Loupe...what is your favoUrite Buck now if it "was" the 184?

Sorry for misleading you Goose, the 184 is still very much my favourite Buck knife. I was just leaving myself open to the possibility that Buck may someday release something even better ;)

Hey, did you keep the box? Someone paid $125 for a Buckmaster BOX on flea-bay. Funny...no feedback left. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA:IT&rd=1

Anyway, hope that knife served you well in Korea while hunting nutria

Unfortunately the one I bought didn't come with its box or paperwork :(. I may someday track one down that is "complete" but the one I have was bought as a user, not a "safe queen". I saw that box auction and wondered the same. Doesn't seem to matter how many times you repeat something, there's always someone who will only read what they want to.

Korea! Pah! Didn't I tell you about the dashed splendid time the lads and I had using our 184s to chase off those Old Guard chappies of that frightful Napoleon? Why I remember it like it was yesterday....................

;) :p ;)

Thanks pjsjr for that im glad benchmades good knife company, i ordered i want bang for the buck (buck as in money)

You can't go wrong with a Benchmade, and the Pika is a very nice knife for the money. The only Benchmade I own is a 710, and the fit and finish is outstanding, but out of the box sharpness leaves something to be desired (kinda like Buck these days :grumpy: ).

Can't decide between these two, so different, so terrific in their own ways:

110 custom: Elk scales, nickel-silver bolsters, BG42 blades with finger grooves. Ooh la la. After showing Last Confederate's picture of his similar custom to my older sister she up and got me, and her husband, one for Christmas. I was shocked at how much the finger grooves inhance the look and feel of this knife. It rests in a lighted glass and oak cabinet quietly waiting to be picked up.

Buck Mayo TNT, my regular, regularly babied, EDC, a slicing machine hammered out by the gifted and designed by a genius. Thank you Buck and Tom Mayo. It has displaced all others in my collection.

Best,

oregon

I recently got a 503, and I'm very happy with it-perfect for EDC. Also high on the list is the little Gent 525 which rides in my back pocket most days (its small size is very PC, and the brushed finish hides scratches better than most). I also like the 444 BuckLite for it's simple design and low cost (use it a lot on the weekends around the house).

Oh, in addition to my EDC rotation (110,111..., & TNT) one knife I use pretty much everyday around the desk and cleaning out toe jam is my Buck 350.

Realized, as I trim nose hair with the 350 scissors, this is a pretty handy little tool. :)
