Whats your favorite Buck knife

definatly the buckmaster 184 with the bead blasted grey silver finish .after that the 119 special, model 277 folding alpha hunter, the 192 br vanguard and the 501 squire

I have quite a few expensive Bucks, a stag limited edition Vanguard, a David Yellowhorse, but to me the one that stikes my fancy is the 535. A beautiful knife that is a double lock back, with wood sides. It reminds me of a custom knife that is meant for hard work. Of course I love the knife so much, it never sees any work. One of lifes ironies.

  ...It's one thing to be seein' somethin' at work where it all looks the same after a while Trax...ewwwwwww...I just made a "jam" samitch and it didn't taste so good just now...besides...we don't call it "butt jam" ya know...LOL...:barf: :barf: ...may have to put my 350 up on "JamBay"...
Yeah, it does look kine like blackberry jam...ya know, got those little sock lint things...look like berry seeds I guess.

Not certain why it did two posts. Went in to edit after the model number since I figured "350" wouldn't mean much to most.

But anyway, I use that gizmo almost everyday and forgot it was a Buck.

I still love my Buck/Mayo TNT 172. My EDC for about five months now which is a record for me.

My first was a buck Ranger, my Dad had gotten me when i was 10. that was in 1981. since then i have amassed a little buck collection. All made in the california plant.
1. Special 119
2. Folding Hunter , 1 FG w/ tan case, and 1 regular
3. Ranger have two one from the early 80's, and one form the early 90's.
4. Stockman
5. Wrangler larger version of the stockman, someone felt they needed more than i, it was stolen.

Oh, in addition to my EDC rotation (110,111..., & TNT) one knife I use pretty much everyday around the desk and cleaning out toe jam is my Buck 350 MuiltiTool.

Realized, as I trim nose hair with the 350 scissors, this is a pretty handy little tool. :)

Hi guys,
I only had one Buck but I loved it - the 112. I recently wanted to get a Hunter for my brother as he kept telling me what an awesome knife I had :) Unfortunately I couldn't get around it and gave this one to my brother on his birthday this month. I already miss it :) But I'm glad he really appreciates this one.
Here is my (ex)Ranger:

 :D ...Wow gooser...It does get them lil' buggers... :p
Yep. I'm gonna try that with a Kalinga someday. Someday... :( :(

PS, wash after snipping roids Dr. D.

the buck 181FL odyssey in ATS34. A truely great little folder that was tougher than it looked.

I have a couple now that are not the ATS 34 but rather the 420 and they are lacking in edge holding. Mine was lost (borrowed?) at the Gym.

So Loupe...what is your favoUrite Buck now if it "was" the 184?

Hey, did you keep the box? Someone paid $125 for a Buckmaster BOX on flea-bay. Funny...no feedback left. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6611415738&rd=1&sspagename=STRK:MEWA:IT&rd=1

Anyway, hope that knife served you well in Korea while hunting nutria ;)

Kind Regards,
Goose.

Hilarious. The guy that bought it now has -1 feedback score because he evidently thought he was getting a knife, and didn't pay when he realized it was only the box. Nice first ebay experience.

Getting back to our topic, personally I think the 112FG is the perfect knife, not just my favorite Buck. And I do own some $200+ folders.

My second favorite Buck (not second favorite knife though) is the 889. I've heard some say they have problems with lock failure, but the lock on mine is bullet and bomb proof. I also love the loud "THUNK" when the lock engages. I love that knife.

Number three would be my Cabelas "Alaskan Guide Series" 110 with S30V BOS treated blade. Incredible deal for $60.

Welcome Earthling...this is a fun place to gain knowledge and bust some chops knowing that no one gets hurt feelings. Try finding a date like that?
The 277 Alpha is a great knife.

Glad to be aboard. I have a feeling more blades will find their way into my (now) small collection. Tough, 'cause I'm only working part time these days (got the corporate downscale treatment, without any KY to ease the pain). To paraphrase Lloyd Bridges in 'Airplane' , I picked the wrong year to start a knife collection. Oh well...

My favorite Buck depends on what I am doing.
If I had to choose ONE knife, or I was a cast away, I would be hard pressed to choose between my 110 Alaskan, 298GY, or 110FG Walnutto NS BG-42.

"Hey! Goose! Is that a cold sore on your lip or ya just happy to see me?"

Well, there I was with my Red Baron combo pizza out of the oven. Let it cool, then sliced it like Benihana with a grilled cat with my 298GY (what is your first clue that I just went on a diet and lost 135 pounds of blonde?).

Afterwards, I noticed that there was some cheese on the blade. I decide to lick off the cheese with my lips. CUT!

Larry, that Buck signed gizmo is still sharp as hell after all these months, Sirusly.

What a freakin' maroon! I need a shot of Jack to curb infection (medicianal purposes ya know)...

What!!! Lip Blood on a sirusly good blade!! and you still have lips? Better send it back and I will sharpen it. It should have at least taken off a lip or the end of your tongue. Must be defective.

I do wonder just how many of those are signed. I only know of two! :)

Yeah, that is some good steel ya got me.
The cut is dead center on the bottom lip. It actually sliced a bit off as opposed to a gash. Looks like I scraped it...well I guess that's what I did.
Anyway, impressive that Sirus is. I have been using it constantly for a few months now and have never sharpened it. Skeers me to think I'll mess it up.
It is fast moving up the chain as my favorite Buck EDC.
Thanks again Pack Rat!
Goose.
