What's your favorite fixed blade?

If I've got to pick a favorite then it'd have to be a Carothers Field Knife.......

......or maybe the drop point RMD.

The Survive 4.1s are contenders...

As is their 3.5

I really like the modified rodent trail (center), too.

Ratweiler and Chopweiler are awesome bigger blades

Heck man, I can't pick a favorite, just a favorite for the day :)

Becker Bk16. Small enough to be super controllable, yet built tough enough to baton hardwood into kindling. Cheap enough that I'm not afraid to thrash it and modify it(kinda), yet still made about an hour from where I live.

My k1 and k1s are about as rugged as they come the performance is right on par w my fallkniven s1 and f1. The rounded spine not only looks good but it's very comfy and throws sparks better than most ! My next knife will be an apocalypse I'm happy to hear others are experiencing this company's products you will be more than satisfied . Please let me know how you like it

Thats great to hear!
Funny you say that because i was planning to get the k1 next xD
I was drawn to TRC because of their back story - how they started. Plus i find their designs extremely pleasing to the eye and i wouldnt mind a couple stainless steel blades to add to my collection of carbon ones.

The only thing i was questioning was their ruggedness. I tried finding reviews but most were not in english haha. So thanks for clearing that up! I only buy solid knives even if sometimes that may compromise their cutting efficiency. So thanks for clearing that up :D glad to hear their solid.

I shall post photos of the apocalypse-m once its in hand. Its smaller than the regular apocalypse - i prefer small to mid sized fixed blades

Yup... glad you bought it off me.

I'm glad I did too Charlie, I've just turned down a $3,000 AUD offer for it from a guy I know here, he's been busting me now for months. Money well spent and I knew it at the time... just wait and see what it will be worth 5-10 years after Brend's gone. :D

Real nice HK.
The photo of the ratweiler next to the fire is plain awesome.
But you embarrass us guys that have nothing but a phone camera to use haha

and how do you find the dangler for the FK? I have a mashed cat but no attachments yet.
Is yours one from Chiral?

Either my Carothers field knife or my 3V slimline machete from Robert Martin. Both are fantastic! Following those two would definitely be my Carothers light chopper.

That pic of the choppy next to the fire.......when I look into the flames it seems like there's a face there hissing at the blade, ha! Totally my imagination, but I thought it was cool, and I'm glad you like it. :)

That dangler is a sagewood. I think I pulled it off of one of the 4.1s and it works really well  I have no plans to change that setup.

I have one of chiral's on a stock field knife sheath as well, and it works great. Plus, CG's work with dang near any sheath out there, he's put a lot of thought into it.

I'm glad both you and sfrigon1 have/are getting some of the other trc knives for comparison. I could have very well added the xs splinter to the 'favorites' and it is very nice and comfortable. Just waiting to get more use on the n690. I definitely want to try the k1s and one of the apocalypse models. The only thing stopping me on the k1s is the elmax. I see where sfrigon1 really likes it, and that is encouraging. I only have one blade in it, a Busse steak knife. It is a great little knife, but I do not have the elmax figured out for resharpening. It reacts totally different on my stones, possibly because it is so hard. I will say that once I get it to take an edge, it holds it for a long time.

We're like brothers from another mother..lol My CPK Field Knives are at the top of my list with my Survive! 3.5,4.1,4.7,5,6,and 7/7's, along with some of my Busse's and Rat's. I do also like a few of my Bark Rivers like the Bravo 1LT and Bushcrafter. It's tough to decide what are our "favorites" because it'll change for me. Just too many knives and not enough time to go play. :)

If the face youre reffering to looks like a snake head, then i see what you mean! Freaky stuff hahah i like the photo even more now.

Im glad to hear the chiral systen works. I do plan on getting a few once i stop spending my savings on more knives haha

And thanks, same! I have not come across many non-european reviews of TRC's, so its great to find some people on here who have discovered them.
The xs splinter definitely looks super handy and low-profile.

If the elmax is stopping you, you can opt for M390 in the k1 if youre a fan of that steel.
In fact i am pretty sure you can customize most parts, if not all of his blades. That's the impression i got while emailing him anyway.

If you're eager to get more designs but are held back by questions, i encourage you to email him because I can say eith ease, he is most helpful and friendly knife maker ive dealth with

My RAT RC6 has been my favorite fixed for about 7yrs now. I recently purchased the Sprig (Christmas present for myself) and it is quickly becoming my new favorite. It's just so versatile.

I'm admittedly not a huge fixed user, but the Fallkniven F1 has proven to be perfect for my occasional uses. I've also had a few Mora, Kabar, and Esee, but the F1 is the only one that I actually want to carry in addition to a folder.
