What's your favorite non-knife piece of gear?

I love this thread! So much cool gear.

I would have to say my Kawi KFX 450 quad. It gets me places I could never go on foot ,sips gas ,is ridiculously fast and is light enough for one guy to get it unstuck.

I also love my Canadian army winter gear ,it is great stuff and lasts forever. I am not the only one to feel this way it seems.

I also like my antique .44 russian top break S&W.

My hat... It's the eddi bauer (yeah I know but its by my house) version of the filson packer. Oil cloth tough as Hades... classic cool when its worn by somebody other than me..when I wear it I look like a dork.. but I am one so It doesn't bother me..

Sig P229 SAS in .40 S&W! A little small for my hands but the perfect size for carry (where legal). -DT

8 year old Eagle Industries AIII Pack I've taken with me everywhere! Either that or my boots, Danner Mountain Lights, keepin' it simple.

Furniture? What's furniture?

Doc

The shapes you pile your books in!

Since my girlfriend was standing here, I asked her for an estimate of the number of books on my shelf beside the bed. Her answer "maybe a hundred."

"So how many are on the bookshelves up front?" I asked.

"I don't know...two thousand?"

When we moved back out here from Montreal the boxes of books weighed more than the crate with my motorcycle and tools...900 lbs! Books, I got!

For me, well it is a toss up between my Lowe Sleeping bag line (Down filled, packs down to about softball size, warm in temps to 10f) or my Chippewa Boots. (15 years old and still going strong.)

I'd would be a S&W 10 4" heavy barrel in .38sp, but since thats out of the question, I'd say a simple pair of CeeTees in a leather pouch with a slotted screwdriver.

I have a pair of Columbia "Frontier Peak" hiking boots that have served me well on trips and wilderness outings on three continents. They are sturdy, waterproof, well-insulated, and very comfortable. All the gadgets and gear in the world won't make your trip enjoyable if your footwear isn't cooperating!

All the best,

- Mike

I'd have to say my camelbak right now, never had one before and am loving it so far :) And my firesteel(s)...so simple, yet so magical:D

That is a really tough question to answer.

Probably my Clark North American Camo Jungle Hammock. I just love swingin around between trees. Truly the Lazy man's way to set up camp.
