in addition to most of the others I really like cherry, and I but see it much. it usually doesn't have much figure, but its a really nice hue, and the grain is small and subtle, but attractive. Allot of the highly figured woods get all the attention, but the color of cherry has allot of depth to it, I dont know how to describe it, but I love it.

Anything quilted or "figured" especially Bubinga or Sapele
Snakewood
Ironwood
Bloodwood
Cocobolo(DUHHH!!!)
Black Palm
Osage Orange
I don't care for burl.....please don't hurt me

I like my Ironwoods and Blackwoods, but I've seen some Black Walnut that I would really like to handle (pun intended).

There's so many woods and they all have there charme.
On bladeforums we hardly ever see olive wood used. But it is a beautifull wood as well.
Hard to pick just one favorite

Cocobolo, Bocote, Mesquite and Ironwood. Stable, TOUGH in a using knife, good looking and easy to finish very well.

How many of you harvest them yourselves? Larry? (meridian)there's a big old 100 year old stump - out of the ground, over in front of the Edina breamar gravel pit just screaming for a chainsaw pirate to come harvest her before she goes into the chipper.

Another vote for Osage Orange for my own use, but for a seller i would use desert iron wood.......carl

I've cut a few. Never thought I would see someone post something about Braemar. I grew up pretty close to there. Maybe a drive by is in order. I would ask permission first tho, if its nice ....... Larry

Any burls really, highly figured wood draws my attention like a magnet. I like Desert Ironwood, Maple, Redwood.. it's all good, nothing creates beauty like nature.

Texas Ebony
Walnut
Snakewood
quarter sawn lacewood
huisache
mesquite

not in that order exactly but they are my favorites.
Dan

California Buckeye Burl, Redwood burl, snakewood, maple burls, and desert ironwood.

When I first started making, liked cocobolo and bocote. Cocobolo now is almost reactive and I really don't find many people who like Bocote
