What's your favorite production necker?

I just put micarta scales on my kabar- bk11 so that;s leading the pack for me.. (pics to come later)
what;s yours?

agree w/ you...

BK11. I would really like an izula as well...but so far my becker is kicking all kinds of tail (had it for over 2 years now) and taking names!

here's some pics
Isn;t that sexy?

I'm not a big fan of having a lot of weight hanging from my neck. Its a comfort thing more than anything else.

The only production necker I own and like enough to keep is the Krein Dogfish by CRKT. Its small, light, takes a great edge easily and was priced right at $15 (on sale at a shop in Statesboro, GA).

It's not a hard use brute but makes for a good canoe/kayak/fishing necker.

First choice right now? The Becker BK-11, hands down.

The upcoming collaboration between ESEE and Becker — the BK-14 "Brat" — is looking mighty sweet, though. Best of both worlds, so to speak: Bk-11 blade with the Izula handle. Yeah, I'd go for that.

For fixed blades, it's the Izula for me, hands down. I thought my Bravo-Necker might give it a run for its money, but I haven't been able to warm up to it.

In all honesty, the "necker" (by that I mean, knife you wear around the neck) I wear the most is a Spyderco Bug. It's a great little knife, and surprisingly useful. I switched it recently to a Honeybee, but I think I may like the Bug a bit more.

I don't own a necker, much less a production model. What has turned me off on em is the lack of an adequate handle.

Closest I've come is my little one made by G.L. Drew. But at 7 3/4 inches overall length it doesn't really qualify as a necker.

ESEE Izula hands down. I've been carrying one for well over a year. I tried some of the other stuff like the Becker and just didn't dig them for whatever reason. Some were just a little big, some didn't feel good in the hand, etc. The Izula seems to be about the perfect size and feel for me. The handle was a bit small, but a cord wrap fixed that right up. Also, they now have micarta scales for them. The blade is thick and tough. The edge holding is great. They have their heat treat down pat on that 1095. Last but not least is the warranty. It's no questions asked. You damage it, they replace it. As long as ESEE is around, you never have to buy the same knife twice. You could seriously stab the knife into a brick, snap the blade in half and then send it to ESEE with a note saying "I deliberately broke this knife." and they would send you a brand new one. You'd be a dickhead, but they would do it. That's just how stand up they are.

The most use I would get out of a necker is from the bottle openers on the ends of some. Seems you can never find one when your at camp so you're always pounding them on the edge of picnic tables and the like to pop the tops off the beer bottles. That would be a cool product something I could wear around my neck that was light, opened bottles and maybe had a couple other handy tool like qualitys that you need when out. its too early in the am for me to think what those are.

MY Swamprat SwampWarden ( SR101 Steel) If only all my knives were made of this steel with their heat treat I'd be a happy man !!!!

You can't trust Pitdog though. He just joined this forum and doesn't know squat about knives.

Looking forward to it. By the way, we need to talk about a camp knife with a wide-ass blade. I need to get your opinions on it. I'll shoot you a PM after I scan the design.

Izula for me. I've had the Becker and the Gossman and the Izula beats them. Better ergos.
