what's your favorite??

Favourite production necker is my Bravo Necker with handle scales. This is about as heavy as I can tolerate for neck carry. I have a few neck knives I've made myself from files and definetely prefer these for neck carry, as they are so light they are pretty hard to notice when tucked under a shirt.

does anyone know if Ka-Bar and RAT use different heat treats?

I'm wondering because my Izula holds an edge pretty well, but my BK-11 and USMC knife do not hold a razor edge well at all, even though they are all 1095 steel. In fact they (USMC and Izula) get considerably dulled just from taking them in and out of their sheaths a few times.

-can't tell if it's the heat treat, or if the Ka-bars just don't like their sheaths?

Different steels and different heat treats.

Izula is 1095
BK-11 is 1095 Cro-Van

Kydex will dull a knife.

:)

I have a Becker Necker; but am truly interested in trying The Boker Plus Gnome if they ever become available(sometime May).

Izula it's ok. Chris Reeve Professional Soldier ok.
My favorite remains the Benchmade/Snody Activator 211. Small enough not to get in my way, but very capable. Pair it up with a right larger blade, and you are set. Assuming you got the right skills...( a continuous learning process, isn't it?)

I like this one:

BRKT Bravo Necker

I'm a big necker fan :) thus far all of them have been custom though (Landi, JK, Gossman, Koster) but I do have a WM1 on the way that'll I post up when I get it in my grubby little hands :D

well I liked the one so much, I got another :)

nice convex grind, nice and light, slim as well- feel good in hand (medium hands- large hands might have a different opinion)

these are going to be great neckers, WHEN I get some decent sheaths- I like the leather dangler, the kydex nylon belt sheath is decent- I don't like the neck sheath they are using (they used to have a decent kydex one- probably too much liability w/ no strap)

The Buck Paclite's half the price, great little knives. Forever warranty as well.

Becker RAT BRAT. Izula handle, becker blade. I don't have one, but have used one enough at a few different events to love it enough :)

Never really liked neck knives but Bushman gave me one which I plan to try, not sure what it is called.
I also have an outdoor edge knife called a wedge which I want to try

I really love my Izula, especially with the micarta scales I got today.

I carry my CRKT Minimalist a lot though, it's very small and light for EDC, and it's rather amazing that such a tiny little knife has such good ergonomics.

Um. Does the HEST count? I really like that one. I like knives with handles and I never wear one around my neck.

These three are all great knives.

I haven't had the chance to use the Swamp Warden yet since this one isn't mine but it might take the cake due to the SR-101 steel and larger grip. They all have their pros and cons. I think I'll make a neck knife rack and just choose from day to day.

The Bravo necker has the benefit of excellent full scales that take it to a different level than the other two knives but they add unwanted weight.

The Izula might fit the role I most need it to because I want something stout and cheap as a beater to back up my pocket knife. There are other better neckers IMO but not necessarily in that role.
