Whats Your Go To War Knife ?

Think lightweight and unobtrusive. Some of the fixed blade suggestions in this thread like the Busse are way too big and heavy.

I would go with a Leatherman and a Adamas. The Adamas sheath is excellent.

One of the first things you do in boot camp is dump most of what you brought with you (including clothes) into a box to be sent home. Do not bring a multi-tool or knife to boot camp. I recall someone who did; he was singled out by the DIs and publicly made fun of. It was not pretty. Envision a skinny, scared kid just out high school being surrounded by multiple DIs screaming at him. I kept a low profile after I witnessed that.

My son took a Boker Applegate-Fairbairn dagger and a Gerber demolition multitool to Iraq. He came home in a box but someone sent the tools a bit later.

Sorry for your loss. May he Rest In Peace. Till Valhalla brother, we’ll take up watch.

I didn't turn my wristwatch in during basic. I still remember how the drill instructor grabbed it, gave me the lecture about how I wasn't supposed to have it, threw it, then he dared me to go get it. You should have seen the look on his face when I walked over without saying a word and picked it up off the ground. He made a lot of threats to punish me, yet never did. I always thought he gave me a pass for standing my ground.
