There certainly seem to be some really "nice" Schrade USA knives here. (are there any other kind of Schrade?)
I'm going to have to revisit this thread when I have a "lot" more time on my hands. :thumbup:

Edbeau

many thanks for the pic of the Craftsman knives.

Mine is just like the one far right.

nice to know it is probably a Camillus.

You are welcome. The picture is only of the different models I have, I have a total of a dozen or so.

I just picked these up today. A combination of ebay purchases and private acquisitions. All bone handles in good shape. Some wear and flaws, but a respectable bunch.
Anyone know the model numbers off the top of their head??
:confused:
Quiz time!!:D

Wow, is that 293 bone? It must be with a clip blade like that. I would not have thunk it with that color and jigging. The 295 on top is a dandy too. Love that spear blade. What is the second blade on #2. Very nice lot.

Charlie, those are just beautiful. You are the penultimate Candy Man. Thanx! Hal, are you tired of that 8 OT yet? :D

Glad you like them guys. Yes the 293 is Bone, Hal.
Here's a pic of the second blades;
The lengths respectively are;
3", 3 3/8", 3 3/8", 3 7/8".

Hal do you mean because of the saber grind on the 293 ?

Exactamundo Rolando, no blade like that on a 293 or 294 by the time they went to Delrin I don't think, though this one has a newer shield and standard bolster. I have a similar Primble version, but the bone is peach seed.

Not quite yet Calvin, there is still a bit of a raise in the pulse when I open that box. :)

Charlie - Is #2 a cattle knife?

That's a very nice looking group Charlie!! I do like the small rascal at the top of the post.

Russell

OK, that tasty little rascal Rusty likes is a 2953, although there is one a tad longer, a 2333. I looked up the other two as well. I'll let someone else have a shot, but the Screwdriver/Caplifter Jack has a number that requires the Cut Co Decoder Ring.

Cut Co decoder ring? Come on Hal, You know you have one. ;)
BTW, What's all this about Cut Co? An early division of Schrade?

Ballenxj: I am appropriating this from one of our own esteemed authors, Codger and reposting it here:
History of Schrade Company

Schrade Cut Co./Schrade Walden were never the same company as Geo Schrade or Boker. The Baers bought Schrade Cut. Co from the heirs of the Schrade family in 1946 and ran it in tandem with their Ulster Knife Co. which they bought from the Devine family heirs in 1940, and associated with Imperial Knife Company which they co-owned and bought from the original owners in the early 1980's. In early 1973, the Baer brothers who owned Schrade Walden changed the name to Schrade, dropping the Walden. Schrade Walden had moved from Walden N.Y. to Ellenville N.Y. back in 1958, and I guess they felt the "Walden" part had outlived it's usefulness. They also already owned shares of Camillus Cutlery in Camillus N.Y. and bought the remaining shares in 1963.

The box has a hand written date on the inside, Sept. 27 2004. anyone know when these Imperial Kit Carson's were last made ? The sheath is flimsy, maybe even re-processed leather. Very poor quality, but i think it is the original.

As Hal stated, the top "rascal" is a 2953 (p. 50 in the E catalog)
Next, the EE is a 7563 (p.23).
Then a C2153SD (p.91)
I don't know what the initial C stands for, but the SD is for screwdriver.

Then of course, the 293.
