Charlie and Roland, you guys are cleaning up! Great haul on that bunch Charlie, and in great shape too!

Here's one that recently arrived in the mail, unusual in that it has rosewood handles rather than the usual celluloid. I believe Charlie has a similar one with an Abercrombie and Fitch etch on the blade:

Ballenxj: I am appropriating this from one of our own esteemed authors, Codger and reposting it here:
History of Schrade Company

Schrade Cut Co./Schrade Walden were never the same company as Geo Schrade or Boker. The Baers bought Schrade Cut. Co from the heirs of the Schrade family in 1946 and ran it in tandem with their Ulster Knife Co. which they bought from the Devine family heirs in 1940, and associated with Imperial Knife Company which they co-owned and bought from the original owners in the early 1980's.
Thanks for this interesting bit of history. :)

In early 1973, the Baer brothers who owned Schrade Walden changed the name to Schrade, dropping the Walden. Schrade Walden had moved from Walden N.Y. to Ellenville N.Y. back in 1958, and I guess they felt the "Walden" part had outlived it's usefulness. They also already owned shares of Camillus Cutlery in Camillus N.Y. and bought the remaining shares in 1963.
So Camillus & Schrade were related? Sort of?

Eric (EA42), is that a can piercer implement on that 850? I have a 906 with that implement, but now I'm wondering how many models it was included on.

That is a nice hefty knife, Eric. Did you know, the hook disgorger is magnetic (or should be) on that knife?

Eric, I am glad you got that knife. I had a snipe bid all set up which would have blown you away, but the goodwife reminded me of some obligations. I have been looking for a job, but there just aren't that many openings in rural Wyoming for 70 year old forklift operators. :D

Eric, is that a hook sharpener on the handle? Match striker? Nice fish knife.

Eric has been real busy doing 15 hour shifts, and packaging 2010 Forum Knives to ship, so I will step in with apologies;
Dave, that is indeed a hook sharpener in the handle.
And gbuskirk, that is a can piercer on the end of the handle.
A very useful knife in general when you do a little fishing, and little camping as well!
Has anyone found a magnetic disgorger to be useful?

Thanks for stepping in Charlie, feel free anytime, I don't get on here near as often as I'd like to.:grumpy:

I'm not getting any magnetism on the disgorger, at least not enough to pick up a paper clip. The opener has a patent # stamped on the short holder section, VERY small but it looks like P# 2,698,480.

Nice looking knife Eric.
In my youth, (countless eons ago) I remember having similar knives. IIRC, the scales were Yellow and various other colors of celluloid though. I wish I still had those old knives.

Nice big trapper, jigged bone, old time etch, the OTC94, just over 4" long.

SCHRADE PEANUT, Model 272. Just came in the mail today. :)
Anybody know how old this one is?
