In fact, I think he had the first Beatles hair cut "before" the Beatles were around. If you think about it, The Beatles had a "MOE" haircut. ;)
I think you are right though, probably was Curly. :D

Here is my 440C Drop Point, destined for Europe but missed the boat, 3 pin (well, 2 handle pins and 1 spring pin) LB7.

I REALLY like it.

Do you see what is unusual about this Craftsman 95078 5" LB ?

roland

Is it a Schrade made LB7-type as opposed to a Camillus made 5" lockback?

I love the pattern as well! Here is a re-post of my stag DU version that I may have to start using one of these days...

Dave got it. This is the only Sears/Craftsman 5" LB that i have seen with a Schrade frame. It is 'always' a Camillus frame/knife. Likely Camillus had a Sears order to fill and were short a few frames so Schrade sent a few over.
In the picture below the top knife is a Camillus (marked "Western"). You can see the different shape at the front bolster. This is how all the other Sears/Craftsman 5 LB's look. The next knife is this Schrade/Craftsman and below it is a Schrade/U.S.A. serial #71261.

There's sure to be more with the Schrade frame so keep a look out for them.
The position of the spring pivot pin in some LB7's is forward like with this Sears knife and more towards the middle in others.

got two more in today. one in the indian series and one not so sure. they are both in good shape although the plastic cover on one is a little worse for wear. what year was the "Pony Express" manunfactured?

have always liked the look of these knives but they were always priced beyond my willingness. got this one in my range. any history? age manufacture dates. the seller says he had it from the mid '70's but as we all know this might not be correct.

1983-1984 I believe were the years they were offered in the catalogs. The Schrade Collectors Site is usually a good place to find information, or you can do a search in this forum. These 3rd Gens have been discussed every now and then.

Sporting Dogs: English Pointer

I don't usually go for "commemorative" type issues but this "English Pointer" is very well done and surprisingly received little bidding. Maybe because the seller was in Canada even though listed on .com ?
Still havin' fun Schradin', roland

Love that single-spring muskrat!
