Here's one I got not too long ago, it was actually advertised as a Schrade Walden box (which was pictured) along with a knife (which was only pictured on the seller's page). Practically got the knife for free!

Eric, that's a beauty, such graceful lines. I have a few of this pattern(766 ?), but all are used. It's one of my favorite 'Schrade' Pen knives.

Good for you, Eric! That is a beauty. Great pattern, great condition. And I have never seen that little package before. Don't throw it away (haha).

Beautiful knife Eric...did it come from our ageing friend in NC?....he had quite a few in original packets...<Cryptic clue..he has a name very similar to someone else we both know and his wife is named Ann>.....Hoo Roo

This is the only picture i have. Knife was just won this evening.

There are Drop Point LB7's but i think this blade profile with the slight recurve and lots of belly towards the tip is different from anything i have seen before. And "440 Stainless" blade etch ??
Any ideas about this knife ?
roland

Larry, no it wasn't him. I actually met them for the first time last November, great couple! He does have one heck of a collection!

Roland, that knife was bound for Europe, they required the type of steel to be etched in the blade. That belly may just be a result of a bit too much pressure by the sharpener, especially if the edge was an uneven width before sharpening. Maybe they figured Europe would be a good place to unload it? (Or it may have been a knife that was never sent out)

Eric

Thanks Eric. I like this blade profile a lot and am very pleased to have won it (for a v. reasonable price too). The seller also had a number of unused Parker/Schrade/Imperial American Eagle series folders and is in Mineola N'.Y. so these may have been from the Ellenville factory auction.

I picked up a few clunkers off the 'bay recently. All for short money...

A 34OT...the staining should buff out. Pretty clean knife, with a little use on it.

A nice 896K Walden. Not in the greatest shape, but lots of life left in it.

I love this last one. Too bad the small blade is broken. It may make a nice project at some point.

Looking closely at the second photo, I think I can see what might be a serial number?

that is what i think i see also. but just not sure. wonder if they had their own serial number in the series?

It certainly looks like it's in the proper place, but can't tell for sure due to the angle.
About them having their own serial numbers, I honestly don't know, but I'll bet Schrade did assign a group of numbers specific to this knife.
I'm sure someone that does know will show up here eventually. :)

They all have a stamped serial number.
The Schrade Indian series consists of six knives, and a seventh which was a SFO for Montgomery Ward. They all came in presentation boxes with a beaded sheath.
1981 The Thunderbird, 10K pieces, large lockback, same frame as the Uncle Henry LB-7 or the Old Timer 7-OT.
1982 The Morningstar, 10K pieces, large lockback
1983 The Kachina, 10K pieces, liner-lock hunter
1983 The Lance, for Montgomery Ward, order # MW-10, a Christmas promotion,
2500 pieces, liner-lock hunter
1984 The Turtle, 10K pieces, liner-lock hunter
1985 The Bear Cult, 10K pieces, large lockback
1986 The Sun Dance, 8K pieces, large lockback

Hey Delmas. The TB stamp stands for Thunderbird. The Bear Cult issue was stamped BC etc
