yep a definite blonde moment there.

Say it isn't so Delmas...

Several years ago one of these Indian Series stamps came up on a normal LB7, and had everyone on the forum stumped. Here's an old thread with LRV coming to the rescue.

but it tis it tis and i have already owned up to being a blonde momentarily. can't wait for it to get here. just got this in and was wondering how many multi tools Schrade made? what was the designation of the big one? the ST-1 is really nice with a tooth pick and tweezers.

ST2.jpgSchrade Multitool.jpg

the ST2 came out in 1999 followed by the ST2L and ST2N in 2000. the ST1L, ST1N, ST1LGB and the ST1NGB came out in 1997. the ST5ECP came out in 2003. not sure but the first mention i can find of the Navitool is 2003 and the I-Quip in 2004? i am lucky enough to have both.

Both the Novitool and the I-Quip were sold by Schrade in 2003 - I also have both items, the Navtool is NIB and the I-Quip is in an un-opend clam pack.

Hi Roland from Australia,
This is my I-Quip from my collection in the GALLERY of AAPN. You will find some of my 2000-2004 Schrade posted there.
After 2004, I spent most of my collecting time trying to collect items made by Schrade from 2000 to 2004.
Most Schrade collectors were a little slow, when it came to some of the last knives Schrade was selling at the time they closed down.
The knives Schrade was having made in China, have become very hard to find.
I have a 2004 Schrade Badger made in China, that I have never seen another like it - It has a Schrade 100th Anniversary blade etch. Ken

Hope that helps Roland,
This is the Badge Schrade had made in China just before they closed down in 2004. This is a well made knife, nothink like the rubbish Taylor Knives have made in China. I have all the Late knives and some of the rubbish made after 2004, they look much the same. However they are rubbish... Ken

Interesting about the 2004 Badger. I knew that some of the liners were coming from China pre closure and i once asked if perhaps some whole knives might have been imported, but replies indicated this was not the case.

Well I've never heard of or seen an "I-Quip" before either that I remember. :o Thanks for the links. :)

Didn't know that Schrade USA had imported from China either.

Bruce and Roland,
The Q3 knives look like Schrade could have had then/or part of them, made in China.
However, the blades are clearly marked “Schrade USA” – there also a very good quality knife.
Although the Badger is a Schrade knife it was clearly marked “Schrade China”, and after 2004 all Taylor’s knives are marked just “Schrade”.
I have some of Taylor’s copies of the Schrade Q3 knives, and they look much the same - and that is were it stops.
The whole knife, although almost the same size, has cost much less to produce, and it shows. Ken.

The Q3 knives are in Schrade's last Catalog on page 11 and 12.

Ken, i don't doubt your findings. Other USA companies were importing some of their knives in 2004 and Schrade was trying to compete.

Roland,
All I am trying to say is that Schrade, was using quality suppliers in China to still produce a good quality product - not like the rubbish Taylor is now selling.

just got this one in and was wondering what its main function was? it has a meat producers logo on it so?

That attachment on the back is for holding the knife in a pocket, possibly on a butchers apron. The blade is used to cut into meat/cantaloupe... the pattern is known as a "Sausage Sampler", or sometimes a "Melon or Citrus Sampler". For carving off little tasty samples. I don't know if the pocket clip is factory or aftermarket.
