Ol' Jackie Gleason used to live in Inverrary which is about 12 miles from where I am now sitting. I liked his work.

Here's a set of knives I got some time back I thought you guys might like to take a look at. I bought them individual though. One is a Sch. Cut. Co. model and one is a Sch/Wal. I got a few sets of knives of the same model but different years though.

Nice gents knives Bill. The Schrade Walden NY (with no U.S.A) stamp indicates one right after the tang stamp change in 1946. Those generally are minus a pattern number stam on the back of the blade. I believe those are the 48 patterns called "The Zephyr".

That's good to know Hal ! ! Nice to hear from you again. I really appreciate the info. big time. I'm very glad to hear it's much older than I thought it was. I assumed it was mid to late sixties, or around there.

Chuck, wow, you a lucky man. i think it's legit and an extremely good price.

Chuck, I'll second what Roland said! Those are mighty rare, I think at least as rare as the 2OT's. Great price too, even with the chipped bone!

Eric

Nice! Three members already!

I thought you had one of those Hal. :-)

I think all of the Buck 700 series, and 500 too, have been made 'in house' by Buck. not a Schrade made knife.
roland

Roland, some of the Buck 300 series knives were made by Camillus. I have a Camillus 317 big hunter. I don't know of any Schrades, but...?

Great thread continues..bet Jackie never dreamt it would get to nearly 39,000 views when he started it.......tell us what you think now Jackie as we have not heard from you for quite a while.
Do you ever feel like you just got a new knife when you find one you had no idea you had?...well this is just such a knife..tucked away in its little black bag in the back of its knife cabinet....I have no idea when I got it or even that I had it....but I quite like it and it remains in excellent uncleaned minty condition..just looked through the catalogs to find out exactly what it is appearantly its a c1959 Ulster made Premium Stock Knife 45 UK? 'Ulster Trademark 45" is etced on blade..Tang Stamp: Ulster Knife USA.,.. white ivoroid plastic scales...closed length 3 1/2" with typical stockman Clip,Spey and Pen Blades.
..some photos.... and he's just gone to the head of the class for a while where I can watch him...so he doesn't play truant again!...Hoo Roo

"Schrade did make a bunch for Buck too,, "
Yes but only of the 300 series. not any of the 500's or 700's.
