I found that one on eBay last week.
The seller had an other one, much the same as the Schrade 77OT - I did not want that one.
The one above is the same size as the Schrade 34OT - I'm still looking for the four inch one, like the Schrade 8OT.
Been wanting a Hoppy for 4-5 years....could never find one I could afford.
That's a pretty cool knife. I'm not familiar with the Cowboy Series. That's really nice compared to the cheap dime store versions of the TV hero knives I've seen. Lots of blade etch. Good find!
Thanks! I think there's 5 or 6 in the series. Hoppy was always my fav!!!!!![]()
I'm 65 and remember Hopalong too. Nice find. Looks in great shape!
I agree, mine, bought by me brand new in 1979 is a four pin with a four digit serial number. (All numeral, no Alpha)hate to say but that knife was not manufactured in 1978 more likely in the 80's and up depending on if it is serialized.
I think we all agree the 3 pin LB7 above was manufactured in the 1980's.I agree, mine, bought by me brand new in 1979 is a four pin with a four digit serial number. (All numeral, no Alpha)
Yup, it's only thirty some odd years old.I think we all agree the 3 pin LB7 above was manufactured in the 1980's.
I like that red knife. When was it made? and did Schrade make that knife before 2004.
All of the knives above, look to be from the last knives to come out of Schrades factory. Your red knife looks to have been made up from parts; the main blade with the Heritage stamp, could be from an earlier knife.
I believe the seller that sold that white trapper, had that box and case made up at one time about six years ago he sold a number of knives in those white boxes and cases. Most of his knives were one-offs and very specials. Ken.
I still think that beautiful red bone knife is something Schrade was working on, around 2002-03.
To-date I have not found anyone that knows what was in the pipe-line at Schrade - I have a number of the knives that did not make it to production. I have 8OT's with the Anniversary inlay in the handle, even some of the knives made in China, that Schrade intended to sell. But as I said before, there was a lot of un-known things going on in the factory around 2003; that I would like to know more about.
