What's your most useful knife?

These past two months: Spyderco Endura 4 Knife with 3.75 inch ZDP-189 blade & Lionsteel KUR with 3.5 inch Sleipner blade

Not most favorite or most pretty knife (although there could be overlap between the categories). Which one in your collection gets used the most?

I'll start. My SAK Hiker is used the most.

Currently it's probably my Spyderco Dragonfly. It's so light that I can clip it to anything, slacks, shorts, even my pajamas. With the blade shape, flat grind, and VG-10 steel, it is adequate for most of my cutting chores.

These!

Got my drywall cutter...
My staple puller/in-a-pinch screwdriver...
My cardboard warrior/anything and everything cutter...
And my sliver picker...

Travels in my pockets or on my belt all day and everyday im at work. :)

S&F love what you did to that insingo. My insingo is gonna have some personality added here soon as well. @WValtakis is gonna give it some spunk and flavor. As I have grown to love the insingo like I didn't know was possible. What a wonderful all around working knife. 20191118_124258.jpg

My EDC is a medium fixed blade. Right now, it's a White River Sendero Classic. It goes on when I put my pants on in the morning, comes off when I take my pants off in the evening, and cuts whatever I need to cut in the meantime. Can't ask for more. And I always have a folder, for the last six months or so either a Ruike P-108, or a Kershaw Launch 8.

My Lil Native comp lock...BUT...I have a Leatherman Micra that has great tweezers
that has removed many splinters from my hand (I heat with wood).
It also has great scissors I use for opening various plastic packaging.

I never would want to be without either.

Thoughtful question, surprisingly for me it's my Buck Canoe.

There were actually two interesting questions asked in this post. One was what the poster said in his post, what is your "most used knife." The second question was the one in the title, your "most useful knife." I certainly take out my canoe knife more but, my Grohmann #3 is the daily carry knife that can do the most tasks well.

For most everyday tasks I find my opinel #8 the most useful. I like the thin profile. I carry my pm2 mostly at work for harder use tasks. I rotate between a lot of different edc knives but I always got the opinel and a leather man multi tool on me at all times.

In both cases, used and useful, is my Classic. I can't seem to shake them. Always with me, used daily, and handles everything I throw at it, within its limitations. I have larger pocket knives and purpose made knives for everything else.

Edit to add an honorable mention. A Farber paring knife with a self sharpening (re: a pair of crossed ceramic sticks embedded in the) sheath. Lives in my lunch box, gets used everyday, and is occasionally on the receiving end of jokes at work (Remind me not to mess with you! ) I dig it

"Most useful" and "most used" do not necessarily overlap... But, hey, I think the one I carry everyday regardless of any other knife I may need or want, can be called the most useful / and used. This is the one I put on when I get up in the morning and the last I put down in the evening :

That knife has a handsome simplicity to it. Nice! I can see why you like using it.

Who is the maker and what are the specs please? Thanks!

That's a good point. When I posted originally, I was thinking about the one that saw the most use (the title is rather ambiguous).

a tricky question … my most useful knives probably aren't my most used in most cases … my most useful knives are all fixed blades that can tackle several different chores ... so my CPK knives top that list … and my LT Wright and Winkler knives would make the list too as being my most useful. Now my most used would be folders mainly and whatever is in my pocket at the time … usually a ZT … CRK ... or Hinderer … but Spyderco and an Alox SAK get carried and used a lot too. Leatherman Charge for a multitool.
