We all know there is no such thing as the perfect knife, but some come pretty close. This Mantra 1 of mine has really impressed me, it almost feels like the perfect knife. Great ergos and steel, love the wire clip and flippers. Can't say enough about the Ti scales. But like everything it's not perfect. It's not the most aesthetically appealing to me, I don't look at it in awe like I do a CRK 21. I see a 21 and just can't get enough, but that's a whole other beast. Anyway, I just thought I'd share how much I enjoy my Mantra.

What knife is nearly perfect for you?

My near perfect knife would be a G10 liner lock mini grip with 556 style blade and opening hole instead of studs, and M2 blade steel at about 63 hrc.

Fällkniven F1 Pro for me. Love my regular F1 but wanted a bolster and a little more belly to the grip. Gave me both of those with improved COS steel. Pretty close to perfect for me. Like you said though, a perfect knife does not exist!

While we're naming knives that don't exist: Mine would be a Spyderco C46 Bob Lum folding tanto, redesigned as a Slysz Bowie style framelock, but with a natural scale on the show side.

That said, I wind up carrying a Large Sebenza 21 tanto in black micarta as my best approximation.

Here's most of my users.
Remove the Gerber Ridge, grape hook, and Leathermans and any one of these could be perfect blades for me though fixed blades always have to be paired with a folder.

A small Survive Knife in 2.7 or 3.5 GSO, CPM-20CV at high hardness, used in Horsewright's horizontal cross-draw leather sheath, spine thickness 3/32", high hollow-grind, ~0.006" behind the edge.
I have one in the "makin...".

Spyderco Military comes pretty close for me. Make one in LC200N with maybe even a new lock that's even tougher and i wouldn't need anything else.

For everyday use I would go with a mini barrage. I literally love everything about the knife, but my father bought me a full sized version with the upgraded steel for Christmas so I have been carrying that
