What's your Near Perfect Knife?

Man, that's a tough one. The ZT 920 is close. Love the steel, love the size, love the shape.

I'm just not a huge fan on the full titanium grip. It feels ok, but I prefer a grippier texture.

I guess a dream knife for me would be a 301 series handle married to a 920 blade.

My Inkozi Insingo comes as close to being "near" perfect as any knife I own.

Spyderco Military works real good for me. I have a Para 2 coming. I hope it works as good as the military.

I think it will always vary a bit from time to time and also hard to pin to just modern vs traditional I am still loving my Lionsteel Roundhead such a great modernized traditional without giving up on being traditional in my book. I am also loving my newly acquired Spyderco Lil' LionSpy just such a great feel in hand plus the chunky blade yet light overall weight make for something nice in hand. I know that both my top picks right now are Lionsteel knives basically as they do make a great knife from everything I ave seen.

This doesn't really mean I enjoy or use any of my other knives less and they are still great and fun to use.

I like different designs and makes. But they tend to be fairly traditional in terms of design. I don't generally care for a metal handle. I don't know what is "near perfect" for me but I have my favorites. They change from time to time. For folding knives I really like CPM 154 and M390 in the better steels, but I'm comfortable with what are considered lesser steels for the most part. My near perfect modern knife is similar to the Spyderco Delica or Native in terms of size. Really don't need flippers or AO's, but I have them. The size is more important to me than both the steel and the action as long as the steel is reasonably good (edge retention) and the action is smooth. Most of my using knives (regular carry) have blades between 2.75" > 3.25" and the actions vary. The Steel Will Mini Cutjack (a flipper) embodies a lot of the characteristics I like and have been carrying that one along with another knife for the last 3 months (since October).

Subject to change, but for me personally it's the ZT 0562CF. Another that is near perfect, but at a higher price is the Jesse Jarosz K2-A.

No knife is perfect for everything but, If I could have one knife made any way I wanted. I guess I might try a Randall Model 18 w/ crimped finger grooves in the hollow handle and a Rambo style bowie blade maybe?

I know, it's a little mall ninja. So sue me, I'm a Reagan Era child.

It depends on what the knife is for. If we are talking a dedicated pocket knife, I have bought two this year that are about as perfect for me as it can get: Spyderco Urban Light Weight K390 and the Spyderco Chaparral Light Weight.

If I want a larger knife, the Manix 2 back lock is king, followed by the Manix 2 Light Weight.

This knife is a 9 out of 10 for me. Perfect blade steel (M390), shape and size, and custom micarta scales. The only negative is knowing that the omega springs in the axis lock will likely fail at some point and knowing my luck it will be at the worst possible moment. It's also a bummer that the knife is a discontinued model.

Based on what I’ve owned, the knife closest to “my” perfect EDC has been the CRK Ti-Lock. Pretty much perfect size for my wants, with great edge-to-overall length ratios. CRK quality and construction with a fully ambidextrous lock. Until Anne and Tim Reeve build a Back Lock Sebenza or Inkosi, the Ti-Lock will have to do
