whoa thats a nice one.

how's the other side elk look...good match? the side I see is a gorgeous version.......

Two new entries. I have not seen an Oak 105 with brass guard and pommel on the internet. Perhaps someone more familiar can educate me. First of all, is it oak? Also, the 400 is something I don't see everyday either. Too bad it was missing the COA and sheath.

Picked this up on the bay, it was listed as a Buck Bantam, which I knew it was not. I didn't have much knowledge about the crosslock before I purchased this knife. I paid $15.50 plus shipping. This is what was shown in the listing.

This is what I discovered today when I opened it.

BHQ exclusive 112. Shipped FAST. Ordered as soon as it dropped on Thursday. Very happy. Beautiful knife. Feels great in the hand and in the pocket.

Was about to order a 112 Sport to match the 110, but I'm glad I saw this. The classic 112's weight works well with a pocket clip (where I believe a 110 would be far too bouncy).

No sacrifices, here. All the function without losing even a touch of class.

Those are nice.
I've been kicking around the idea of that one myself.
I like the wood and nickel.

Got my hands on a Crosslock today at a shop near me, just needs to be cleaned up. I LOVE this design.

I have always loved folding knives where there's little interruption between the blade and handle lines, so when I saw a picture of one of these, I'd been on the casual lookout. Glad to have gotten one in such nice condition. Mechanically perfect, just needs a good cleaning, a spot of Flitz on the blade, this one's going to be a cherished part of my Buck collection.

Here are some things that came in the mail.
1) SMKW Buck anvil - had a hard time figuring out which Buck to get, so I picked a Ranger Sport. The other stuff was free too.
2) 3 combo tins from Walmart. I found 6 different combo tins from this year. Don't have the other three yet. I am a little disappointed that, on these three, they didn't change the tin design from previous years.
3) 401MT1 - Kalinga - Nice smooth buffalo horn handle (one of my favorites). 100 made. Sorry about the picture. That mirror polished blade doesn't capture well on my camera setup.
4) 529E1 - Buckskin with Eel handle - in very fragile original clamshell (actually I picked this up at the Gun & Knife show in Novi, Michigan this weekend).

Merry Christmas to me. :)
