It appears this was made in 1995 for Buckeye Sports Supply. They commissioned 500 but only sold 250. Buckeye went out of business. Buck Knife took the other 250 and offered them in 1996.

I went to my local knife shop for a 112 slim elite heritage and ended up with a 791 instead. Picked up the 301 last week. Buck has been doing great work with their newer designs. The edges on both are outstanding.
