What's your newest Buck knife

thanks to @oregon who gave me a heads up on some deals.....I got this one.......

the layout of the packaging might be confusing to someone not sure of what's what. shows it's a select level and says "high carbon steel", but under select says 420hc and 420j2 steels....it shows on websites as 5160 steel so medium carbon....:)

the older red coated are great, but these newer ones are fantastic feeling and looking. micarta feels great, lots of grip without hot spots. I expect skblades d2 ffg is gonna be really special. might have to grab 2......
 
Farm..that Rams horn 112 IS a rare one and hardly ever seen for sale. That particular one has a lot of character too. I only remember 1 other LE 112 with Rams horn it and it was bareheaded and fileworked.but 250 were made of that one. I bet it goes well with the double Damascus Rams horn you have. One odd thing about is it feels great in hand. At the 2012 Blade Show I did a little experiment and out of all my 112's my example like yours felt best in my hand. I unfortunately let mine go in 2015 to help finance a pair of new pistols. The guns are still on sale everywhere but the 112's are virtually impossible to find. I have not seen that particular 112 for sale since..

I picked up a mini-iceman (420hc blade with aluminum handle + rubber inserts) for about $15 USD... quite a deal I thought but I found a few threads here after the fact saying they were even cheaper 4 or 5 years ago. Hard to believe. I know it's nowhere near as good as the USA made models, of course, but it still had a perfect grind & centering.
Before this, my last buck was the forum 2018 special, which really is superb - cpm154 and elk, what else could you want for a traditional?

I just told a friend yesterday that I had too many knives I liked. Instead of having a couple of old faithfuls that I carried everyday, I was "carrying around". I had become a knife slut :oops::eek:

It depends. The Vantage Pro is a nice knife. I would say display this one and buy another to use. Especially if it will make your gf feel good that you're displaying her gift and get to tell guests, "..my gf gave me that.";)
If OTOH, your gf would get her feelings hurt because you're not using her gift, screw the signature and use the heck out it :p
