Whats your pocket knife pet peeve?

Thank you.

The picture for my avatar was one that I pulled off the web. It is however almost an exact double of my cat, Jace. Even my wife was fooled by this picture.

Jace is nothing special, just a basic rescue cat but we enjoy having him around.

My daughter nicknamed him Monster Cat. That should give you an idea of his personality. At least towards her.

Hopefully my next cat will be a Russian blue.
Love the name too. My wife's horse is named Jace. He just turned 30 years old.
A Russian Blue ?..Awesome.

Well, I'm just a traditional guy, but:
Scratches on the bolsters or blade from the factory.
Gaps between the liners and bolsters.
Herky-jerky action on cam tangs.
Secondary bevels that disappear at the tip.
Round tips.
Hollow or cheap feel.
Too much heft/ too little heft.
Defects in scale materials, or other 'personal taste' cosmetic downers.

I can’t take credit for the name. Anderson Valley pet rescue came up with that.

Google Russian blue cat and see what you come up with. I’ve got a thing for solid gray cats.

What was it Benjamin Franklin wrote? “In the dark all cats are grey” or something like that.
I don’t think he was talking about kittens, though.

Here's my "Spike". I think he is your Russian Blue. He came to us as a kitten in the beginning of a cold winter so we gave him a home instead of a barn.

... lemme take a crack at it:

1. Not owning Chinese knives
2. 100% effective
3. Huh? ...

Forgive my highfalutin use of words like "heuristic". It's a thought exercise. For it to work, you'd need a more abstract goal for 1. For instance, why don't you want to own Chinese knives? If it has to do with economic patriotism, the prosperity of particular workers, etc.; then this might be worth exploring.

To put it another way, some people say things like "I love that design but I can't let myself buy it because it is made in China". In that case, the person is depriving themselves of something that might bring them happiness. In that case, it's worth exploring the "why" and kicking those logical tires.
