Here's mine. The bag i leave the house with, whether I have other stuff with me or not.

I ride a bike unless I absolutely have to drive somewhere for work or somesuch, and I live in a town in a semi-rural and heavy agricultural area, so that colors my choices a lot. (as does our weather)

That's the bag, belt, and pockets (minus a few pens and lighters). You see the fancy W&S patch on the caribou bag, my "laptop" phone (nokia E61), clear and dark glasses, my hat, my everpesent REI filter screen coffee cup, a Camillus rigging knife I don't carry *every* day but which is my go to for cordage work, my necker, and the always famous Victorinox outrider and LM crunch pair.

closer vies of the necker, Camillus, well used outrider and crunch

Here's the bag unpacked

Wow! What's *in* there?

Nearly everything, apparently. Brinks LED flashlight (yeah, it's not a surefire, but it works) LED headlamp, red LED keychain light on a caribiner on the bag, a tiny little white LED light that has pushbutton on & blink modes and an elastic cord to attach to handlebars.

Toothbrush kit, 9 yards 550, small sewing kit in a medicine bottle, paperback book, space blanket, 2 bike tools.

the black case on the left bottom is my HP-35S calculator. Does fractions, binary, logic operators, equation solving, and is programmable. I use it several times a day.

The cord-wrapped knife on the left is a 5160 blade I forged and have been testing for a half a year, works great, REALLY EASY package to carry with the linen wrapped handle. On the right is a nessie necker design I keep testing out. Sharp little beastie.

Two moleskines? well, one is my bobo book, and the other is actually my wallet.

Yaesu VX-170 Weatherproof 2m ham transceiver. Get your license, it's worth it.

The ipod shuffle is the old style that works as a memory stick, and that's mostly what it is.

The black case on the left on top is my first aid kit

Gauze, tape, loratadine, ointments for my hussein sunburn (seems to last a long time, huh?), iodine, lighter, teensy sak (only in there for scissors and scalpel, but no better ambidextrous scissors are made), ace bandage, and alcohol wipes. Oh yeah, and the T cord and bite kit.

The first aid kit is sitting on my forage bag- one of those string tie backpack thingies that holds a ton but folds down into the bottom of my caribou and takes no space. It's nylon instead of pastic. handy handy thing to have around.

Do you recreate in areas that require navigational aids, cause I don't see any compass or GPS (preferably both)?

Silva Ranger is a dependable model, but there are certainly others:

Nice setup. Alot of stuff for edc..I'm on my feet alot so I tend to go a bit lighter. That's a nifty hat what kind is that?

Nice set up. I thought I was the only one carrying a rigging knife. The marlin spike may be the most used tool I own. Love the lanyard on yours, I think I'll be doing some tying tonight.

I forgot to photograph my watch! I have a casio sea pathfinder with solar and a compass. I have a silva andgps in the hiking gear (and an astrolabe, but i am weird).

If I am west of donner pass, north of fresno, and south of red bluff i am fine with the maps on my phone memory and the casio compass- and I can get to a road or town without either.

It's actually not that much weight, and several items are workaday stuff, just busines as usual.

The hat is made by henschel hat company. leather and well worn in. http://henschelhats.com/ can't remember if it is an outback or a hiker, I've had it for a half decade.

Man, rigging knives are awesome. Even if you are not boating. For W&S you have a solid and batonable wharncliffe style blade and a locking marlinspike - I often feel idiosyncratic with it in the woods or creeks, but it is econd only to the outrider in usefulness

Nice bit of gear.

I am not a big fan of snake bite kits like that one, but if it works for you...

Love the rigging knife.

I would add a spork and your good to go. :D

Needs more knives-- not nearly enough :D

You know what that mirror is for on the compass?

So you can see who is lost ;)

This is my real EDC. This is on my person all the time, I also cary a back pack at times that has other things in it.

I just started carrying a rehandled Camillus marlin spike also. I figure the spike is super useful for a variety of situations. Besides prying open stubborn knots I figure it could work well as a glass breaker.

I just have a loop of paracord with a split ring on mine. The split ring is slipped under the tip of the spike. The spring on this thing is so strong it helps to have a little leverage getting it open.

Look into the Myerchin rigging knives. I have had many and I swear by these. Harder than heck to sharpen but once sharp they are wonderful. Magnetic spikes too. At least mine is.

Nice setup. You live in a good location. Close to lots of recreation area (Sierra mtns.).

Basically mine is made up of a Victorinox SAK, a compass topped match safe with sewing and fishing kits, as well as tinder inside and a 10' wrap of high speed tape on the outside. These two items live in a boy scouts compass belt pouch along with a G2 gel pen. In my right front pocket is an Inova mini LED and a Gerber Clutch multi tool. In my left front pocket is a Camillus WWII US Army issue utility knife and a bic lighter. In my hip pocket is a large silk bandana. In left front cargo pocket is my PSK and the right CP has a small FAK. Usually wear a wool felt fedora that's seen better days and a cell phone.

If I might add a bit of advice, lose the snake bite kit. They don't really do much good and there is risk of infection, or other injury from the cutting that you'll need to do. Best to use a bit of advance preventative preparation and put on some snake proof gaiters or snake boots and watch where you step, before you step.

Gotta say, I love the patch on your bag!

I live in good 'ol chicago, so no guns and big knives for me. My EDC is a Kershaw Lahar, SAK Executive on my keys, Fenix P3D Q5, and my Wenger watch.

Fenix L1D with spare batteries

Pen

On my person
