What's your REAL EDC?

Yup, its a Chinook 2 alright.

Fourth from the left started out as an Emerson SARK and was then pimped by Ferrrk to what it is now. Scales are green canvas, bolsters titanium.

Looks like the blade is hollow ground, so I also guess it's a Chinook 2. Got one, too, and I love it :)

What's #4 on the same picture (also from left to right)?

I carry the Maxped ruck every day to work. All the gear fits into the external pockets, the main compartment is usually empty save for my lunch. I like to keep it empty for groceries and such.

Weekends I use a regular Maxped Fatboy. At some point though, I want to get a jumbo S-type Fatboy. The S-type is better if you are carrying a fixed blade right side.

I like to have all my gear with me. I also have a BOB in the car with more stuff in it. I don't see the point of leaving it at home.

I definitely started this thread with the "what do you carry with you ever day? not hiking, nothing special, just your around town stuff" idea.

That bag, or the same stuff in a backpack if I have to carry stone working tools or some oddity, is my regular all the time stuff.

FWIW, it's only about 9 pounds.

Lately Ive been carrying a REAL beater. Some sort of Smith and Wesson(says 24/7 on blade) drop point with partial serrations.Works good at work for opening boxes, and i dont think much of loaning it out.

Always a VIC in some pocket though.

Same here. I think I'm using a 24/7 S&W (hey it has sentimental value). I also use a Trekker daily and 3 days a week I replace the S&W with a Chinook II.

I give up. What's an IBA?

Interceptor was one of the body armor contracts, so you'll hear IBA = Interceptor Body Armor; or you'll hear a more general term OTV = Outer Tactical Vest; the Marines now have the MTV = Modified Tactical Vest. All are made with soft body armor inserts, a MOLLE (MOdular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment) webbing cover on the outside (to attach magazine carriers, IFAK's, Camelbacks, etc.) and they also have the E-SAPI (Enhanced-Small Arms Protective Inserts) pockets for the plates.

Don't you love acronyms:D
