When Emerson Says Hard Use, He Means Hard Use...Many Other Brands Don't Survive

No problem, and I never had an omega spring break so there definitely reliable. For me just knowing at some point they'll break bugs me. In this case simplicity is better for me. Part of the reason I like framelocks and compression locks
wow what your saying sounds amazing :)
i want to hear it from more sources before i get it.

so sad YouTube "reviews" are mostly third party advertising,
not real people like me, actual end users, customers.
but thank you very much for your replays, its helpful & appreciated!

about the Adamas
in terms of being a knife which is fun to play with,
it proven itself above & beyond anything in my humble collection.

ESPECIALLY now after one of the Omega springs broken
and it's even easier & nicer play with.
didn't bother replacing the broken spring.

That's a really good point you make!

although its not the only case of
lock fail with an un-abused knife.

ps
regardless of this, the Emerson i would love to buy
and im actually considering it right now, is the ZT Emerson 0620
for the reason i already got a ZT, and im getting exactly what i want with them.

but i wish it came with the polished finish on the 0620cf,
because the CF version may be to slippery for emergency use.

This is simply what you would call a lemon, it can happen to any brand. Including Emerson.

wow thanks for the second video, hey alnamvet watch the second video its the same guy who did the first video... great job starting this thread with a video that shows an emerson failing, does that mean all cqc7's will fail in the same manner? what if people judged emerson knives off that video and wrote them off just like you did with elmax? hmm

While I think you do make a valid point in what your saying, this 'failure' can happen to any liner or frame lock. Your simply moving the lock bar off with your finger, not just by squeezing. I've squeezed emersons as hard as I could, nothing.

I don't think for a second every Emerson does that, and I agree it can happen to other knives. Glad you seen my point though.

Just curious, would an extremely forceful stab in a combat situation, in an attempt to penetrate Level IV ballistic plates for example, have a similar effect of shock on the mechanism as would a spinewhack?

I thought I recalled seeing an interview a few years ago where Ernie stated he had broken every known lock on a folding knife, and then followed up by stating that he did not recommend using his knives in a stabbing capacity.

I have tried to find that video but have been unsuccessful. Am I misremembering Ernie's comments?

I agree must have been a early lock up because mine dont fail spine test with normal wacks not killing it..I dont hink you will have to worry about Emaerson failing you in the field..or in EDC
