When is a trade complete?

I am in somewhat a dilemma about all this. While I am not happy about the trade and told him I wanted to reverse it and get my knife back, he stated he wouldn't do that but did offer to do some things to help make it right.

I stated that I wanted to reverse the trade and would even take the knife back after it was sharpened assuming it was still in good condition. I also offered him to give me money for the knife and he could get his knives back. Or he could buy a new one and send it to me.

He declined all of those options. He did contact Benchmade and found out that they have replacement blades available for the knife and that he would pay to have a new blade put on the knife. The other knife hits the back spacer and has put a big gouge in it and dulls about an inch of the blade. He also contacted ZT/KAI and they said if I send it in they will fix it. So he is trying to do something, but I have to spend money on shipping the knives, go without the knives for a while, risk the knives getting lost/damaged in transit, and also hope that the companies can fix them and get them into good shape. Basically I'm now relying on the knife companies to make things right. Again, I would rather just get the knife back (it was the M4/Ti Military if that matters) and not be bothered with all this at this point but there isn't much I can do since he is not willing to do what I consider the right thing to do.

What would others do? Should I make a post detailing everything that happened so others can come to their own conclusions? Thanks for all the feed back. It reaffirms what I have always practiced here on BF and what I feel should happen with an honest and trustworthy individual.

Well, I think that's BS. You should be able to get your stuff back, if you're not happy with the trade. Honestly, after all the trades I've done on this forum, I just took it for granted that was how it worked: You trade, and if one party isn't happy, you trade back. I'd like to know the member's name, so I can know not to trade with them.

This is exactly why i said conditions up front.

Regardless, this person needs to be identified.

I don't like the fact this person has not stepped up here.
