I think the countdown clock on the Benchmade site says 111 days. Wish it was 11 days.

I'm not a fan of coated blades but less of a fan of green so I'm happy I got the 945bk-1. I won't be getting the 945 but the new bugouts and mini adamas is tempting.
What thumbstud is that? Looks great.
Swapped with my blue bugout. What thumbstud is that? Looks great.
Satin axis lock is smoother than the coated black. It doesn't bother me.Does anyone know why they put a satin axis lock on a blacked out knife? It always bugs me.
I just got my 945. I was wondering the same. I feel it would look better in black. But thats my opinion.Does anyone know why they put a satin axis lock on a blacked out knife? It always bugs me.
To echo what BC42. The satin stainless steel works really well. It doesn’t have the sticky or gritty feel that the black titanium axis bar lock has on the bugout and bailout. A black oxide or parkerized finish on the stainless steel, axis bar lock will smooth out once the finish is worn off by contact from the blade.

The gritty feel is more in the channel of the liner where the axis lock slides back and forth, not where it contacts the blade. I've only had 1 knife out of 12 that lock stick was so bad that I took it apart to figure it out. Usually, you can rotate the axis lock to find a better spot on the cylinder of the lock.I would polish the gritty feel right out.
Looks like you got your wish, haha.
