...and let's not forget that Jake wraps himself up in the flag and the bible. He is 100% a hypocrite. In response to some of the comments stating "yes, Hoback knives may be made in China, but the quality is still great," my response is this:
There are literally thousands of other knives out there that are as "high quality" or better, which come with great pride of ownership, because the maker/company behind them isn't a liar, a cheat, a scoundrel, a poltroon, a what have you. When, like many of us here, you've already got more knives than you know what to do with, why would you want even a single knife in your collection that doesn't make you proud to carry it?

Also, an actual use of poltroon, ten points to Hufflepuff!

Prayin' no one finds out where these things are coming from.If we assume that the packaging, which is obviously LARGER than the contents, makes up at least 50% of what customers actually buy....
And we also safely assume that the Bible verse and prayer and advertising adds an additional 25%...
If the blade steel was Forged in Taiwan, the scales in Vietnam, the screws in Cambodia, the made in the USA sticker in Mexico, and the various bits bolted together in China, is it not then safe to claim that the real work -- packaging and prayer-- was done right here in the good old US of A?
Right?
New Balance probably sells more product yearly than any knife company. All their shoes say one of three things: Made in USA, Made in USA with foreign materials or "name of country imported from." Pretty simple thing to do.I think if people think “made in USA” means 100% all parts made in USA, they’re going to have a bad time.
The FTC requires only “more than 50%” for companies to make the claim. If in fact every single part was USA made, people would be complaining about the cost instead.

While there are some bad actors out there most people's default setting is honesty.Just found out about this the other day and am disheartened to hear what happened. I have 4 Hoback folders. 3 older Kwaibacks and a Radford. I was thinking of selling the Radford anyways as its just smaller than what I am used too. But this just makes you wonder how many Other Makers are doing the same thing....???

I am a USA Made Guy so this one hurts. I am no fan of China by any means. I only buy what I absolutely Must from them and sadly its far more that what I would like. China basically owns the USA currently and I dont see that stopping. But lying and saying something is USA Made only to find out it isnt hurts. Yes, I am supporting an American Business by buying his knives, but also someone who hasnt been completely honest. And its only out and about because they were caught. The comments are simply PR. Sighs.....
My default setting is funny with a healthy dose of snarkinessWhile there are some bad actors out there most people's default setting is honesty.
