Yes, I'm still waiting... Dragon was shipped May 8th out of Russia. It's been setting in customs for almost two months in Jamaica NY.

Only wire transfer or western union.

I recently did a Western Union transaction with cash at a local convenience store to buy a Shirogorov from a Russian dealer. The fee ended up being almost 8%. It felt so sleazy I wanted to take a shower afterwards.

I don't pretend to know how hard it is for Russian businesses to work w Visa or Mastercard, but they offered 8% discount to use Western Union or bank wire... now I know why... fees chewed up that amount.

But I am not inclined to do Western Union again.

To be clear, that dealer had a bank wire transfer option, which after my experience, would be much safer in several ways... but fees were similarly terrible as Western Union.

Plus... courier delay plus customs delay = nearly 4 weeks. You start to wonder if your $$ have disappeared.

Risk, risk, risk ... all around.

My point: US Distributors have a value.

I recently purchased a scout from the Finnish site... Easy navigation and seamless pay function... Well worth checking out... Oh, and the knife is too quality... rivals Shirogorov in many ways...

Do you all think they would be any problems if a man had to send one of his knives back for repairs?

USA Customs and Russian Customs could add 2-4 weeks on both legs.

Rob_Angerer There are Shirogorov dealers in the US. One is a BF sponsor. There are also Cheburkov and Biryukov dealers in the US.
