Where are the new 301's & 303's ?

I keep looking at the pictures and all Buck had to do was swap location of the sheep's foot and Spey blades and it's a done deal.
In fact , they still can on continuing production.

There seems to be a decent percentage of 301's with these problems. Anybody found similar problems with the 303?
Buck should have just left the blade positioning alone. Sure, hindsight is 20-20, but how did all these get past QC?

It's too bad there have been so many issues with the new 300 series. I really like the color schemes available and would have likely ordered one if they would have opted for the old flat grind on the blades.

I guess I got lucky with my 301. No gaps but there is a slight rub of the spey on the sheepsfoot blade, it's really not bad though. I was just looking it over and I think the problem on mine is the pile side liner looks like it bows in a little bit taking some space away in the well. It's hard to get a good pic but I think that's what's causing the rub on mine.

Good observation. I can see the bow on the liner.

I didn't buy one of these, so I should probably keep my opinion to myself. I'm glad yours seems to be put together better than some of the others shown here. I realise that some liner & spring gaps, or a little blade wobble isn't going to affect a knife's use, or how long the knife lasts, but...... I don't know. Maybe I'm OCD or something, but I don't like to see it.
Okay, I'll shut up now.

Buck needs the feedback, whether or not you bought one. This release is harming their image and may have lost them at least one customer, me. While their support staff is great, we should not have to rely on them to fix what should not have needed fixing in the first place.

Visual gaps don't
bother me too much, but no
gaps makes me happy.

Knife that won't open?
Just doesn't do it for me.
Off to Idaho!

Hopefully Buck does a mass recall and straightens out the bad ones. I would hate to see them sit on the sidelines and take a wait and see attitude!!
I want a red one but ain’t gonna be too happy if it has issues that should have been fixed!!
John 😁

I like mine now that I've fixed it, but when I compare it with my older 301's...well as much as I dislike saying it, the old ones are just made better all around. If you have one with the sticking, unopenable spey, it is an easy fix with a file, if you don't want to send it back to the same folks who sold them this way in the first place. I hope Buck's warranty department isn't like their QC these days. Good luck guys 🤞

I just got an email update from the warranty department. Mine got there yesterday. Can't wait to drop it in my pocket again!
