Editor of a nationally distributed magazine is a public job. This is a public place, and often publicly known people are talked about. I don't think anybody here was trashing Mr. Voyles. Only discussing what has been noticed in cutlery publications, and specifically Knives Illustrated. I certainly didn't make any remarks about Mr. Voyles personally.
The nineteenth century was not a more courteous time. Perhaps in certain circles, but certainly not anywhere. The "Field of Honor" had nothing to do with honor. Murder is not honorable, and that is all dueling is. It is only honorable in romantic fiction, and movies.
