Where Should I Go In Texas?

DRM said:
I've been to Texas a few times and never saw anything that impressed me enough to return.

One of my friends said that the state wouldn't even exist if the Alamo had a back door.
Must have had your head up your ass. Lot of good people died for this state, many of them Mexicans fighting against the tyranny of Santa Ana. Won't find many Texans that will run. Lot of Kentuckians died at the Alamo as well. Good men all. Glad you decided to stay in Kansas.

Let's not let this get rancorous. (sic) The Alamo had a back door- not only could all have left early on, but I beleive Santa Ana offered them an out as well. They stayed and their sacrafise remains enduring through our history.

DRM- I don't give out red squares, but your post really was out of line- I mean, think about it- a thread full of Texas natives and well wishers. What were you thinking of? You oughta admit you were just yankin their chains and apologize.

I've always liked Texas because they had the good judgement to be a soveriegn nation before joining the Union.

Dave, texas BBQ is the finest cuisine on earth.

sonny bryans
colters
dickeys
the list goes on and on

at my wedding we had chopped brisket sandwiches. oh man, id pay 20$ for one of those right now.

I think we can agree that most men enjoy BBQ.

Any famous restaurants? what are those dishes you talked about?

Dont go to Texas, come to Dryden. We have a firewood pile, many interesting types of grass (thanks to a local man who traveled the country gathering them to create his own genuine prairie, which is burned every year), and a pond. And who needs rattlesnakes, when you could instead visit the gas station and have your pick of many brands of softdrinks. The choice is yours.

I'll see you this summer.

Forget Texas.

Think NE Ohio (We need your tourist $$$$. Steel mills mostly closed and we haven't had a President in 80 years.)

Coast? North Coast!!

Firewood pile? We have a river that burned.

Allamo? We have Brown's Stadium where every team we've had in years has been wiped out to the last waterboy. :( (No offense Texans.)

BBQ? Kielbasa!!! :)

Amusement park? Cedar Point AND Geauga Lake!!! :D

Visit Busse Knives on the way and have lunch at Johnny Pakko's in Toledo before continuing your trip.

Cleveland, birthplace of Standard Oil, Carnegie Steel, Olsmobile. (As I said, we need your $$$. They all left.)

Cooler too.

Come on up!

last night while researching Texas we found a list of States losing their young and educated. Montana was Fifth. Iowa and North Dakota were right up there. How far is Ohio from Iowa?

We are open to other places. My wife wants a white sand beach, though.

Found out today... I'll be visiting the Dallas-Ft. Worth area April 18-22. Don't know the exact location yet, but I'll holler when I figure it out. Looks like there's plenty to do!

When Munk comes to our place I'm going to take him to the World Famous Gun Museum up in Claremore but not before stoping and getting a package of Depends.
Not necessarily because he will shit himself but for the drooling that's apt to happen. :p :D ;)
Munk had mentioned in an email about some bad guy's standoff places. At the museum they have some of the old famous outlaws gun's. I think Frank James and I know Pretty Boy Floyd's as well as some others. They also have several hoods and hangman ropes with the nooses that hung several bad guys and I think a bad woman.
Munk will get tired of looking at Kentucky Rifles!:D

I went to the firearms museum in Cody Wy and that was something.

I've been thinking about Texas and no handguns. I really don't want to take a lever action rifle with me, though I could, and there is something to be said for that in humor if nothing else. "Honest Officer, the 45/70 is a great traveling companion."

I'm thinking seriously of applying for a CCW here. I just don't want to spend the bucks. I could buy a khuk instead.

And I need to save money for the Russian SKS.

Obviously, you have never visited Trona Ca, Jebediah.

Rusty- are you listening to this? Two strikes against Nevada now; one, you have Reid. Two, your state does not recognize ccw's from Montana, OK, and Tx.

Personally I'd love to see Munk in Toronto! Now that would be a sight!

It'd be like ... like, Dave in Montana?
