Where will you be at 12:00 midnight on Dec. 31

At home. New Years Eve is amature's night out. Snuggled up to my wife with a nice fire and some music, maybe Dick Clark... Nah!

Depends on the Y2K incidents in the time zones ahead of the USA. If nothing to little happens (like I predict), IT'S PARTY TIME!!! If there are reports of mass power outages or other irritating circumstances hit the major cities of Australia and Eastern Asia, I'll probably head toward my parents' place to monitor the situation as it occurs. I know that some city employees are required to stay at home for on the 31st to the 3rd, to take care of any Y2K problems that may happen. Oh well, maybe I'll do some backpacking for a week and surprise myself when I get back the first week of January.

I'll be working. I'll be in charge of the security for my shift. This should be entertaining, watching to see whose theory about Y2K is correct. i haven't been able to get any pools going on this.

Fenris, looks like you'll be in one of the potential hot spots. Enjoy! If you would, knock one back for me. Oh, by the way, when are you going to sell me your CQC-8?

Aloha.
I don't really expect an orgy of looting and rioting here in Honolulu. However, in any case I can enjoy some ice cold Tiger beer and Thai food. While polishing my Saiga 12 and Makarov can watch Y2k come and go on televison.

The Union Hall keeps reminding me that it will be “The Busiest Night In The History Of The Entertainment Industry.” That means that I will be working, I know not where. Probably up on a spotlight tower or back stage somewhere.

My wife and I will be at our son's wedding at his house. For some strange reason, he has decided to have their ceremony at 10 minutes after midnight ! But, it's their wedding and we have to be there, tho usually I'm in bed by that time on New Years, cause I usually do a century bike(100 mile) ride on New Years Day. Guess we'll watch the vows, sip a glass of champange between us and zip home to bed!!
I don't expect any Y2K problems, but I'm ready if it should happen.

I'll be under a bridge in my service vehicle, eating my hickory farms, hoping no stray bullets land on anybody else. People near border towns like to shoot their guns in the air when they celebrate.

Home with my wife, and maybe a couple of friends, enjoying a quiet evening; hopefully, my brother and his wife will decide to join us.

I spent too many years working as a bartender to want to be out on what knifeknut accurately describes as "amateur night."

I'll be driving a police car making radio runs wishing I was home with my wife and kids (drinking a Killians Irish Red or two).

I'll be sitting in a machine gun nest in the family "compound" in central Utah. I'm not worried. We have six years of food, water, and ammunition storage.

Home, with MY Project I in hand (what a cool knife might I add) and monitoring Y2K in New Zealand, the 1st major country to hit the new year *cough, knifeworks.com, cough* and see how things go there. I'll contiune monitoring to China, and draw conclusions from them, but believe I'll be hitting the store early that morning, because it will be a big deal....

I will be at home. I am terrifically afraid to go driving in the SF Bay area on Christmas and New Years. 20 years in the ER convinced me that these two days were definitely amateur nite for drinkers.

I will also be watching over my neighbor's house, as they are vacationing in Tahoe.

I do have considerable provisions including drinking water and firewood, as well as a small arsenal, but doubt I will use anything of this kind.

If things DO turn ugly, I will just put a life-size pic of Vampire Gerbil in my front yard. I suspect that would stop anyone!

Will be at my sister's home with all my family and some friends having a good time. Her house is about 100 yards away from a NATO kerosene storing camp, so if there are some Y2K problems with their computers, maybe we will have some REALLY good fireworks.

I will be at the Fire station, waiting to see what mess people will be able to get themselves into. Not that I'm worried about Y2K, but New Year's Eve seems to be the night for all the drunk drivers to be have their annual rally.
And if it'l like Christmas was, we will be busy all day long.
