Which 3 knives for the rest of your life ?

Spyderco Mule in S90V PE
Spyderco Military in S90V PE
Spyderco Cricket in VG-10 SE

Of course, I would not include a multi-tool, any chopping tools, any saw, or any kitchen tools. :)

**I reserve the right to alter or cancel this list in any way, shape or form at any point throughout the duration of the specified timeframe in this agreement.**

Three I would choose (mostly 'cause I have 'em):
1. BRKT Golok-remarkably versatile
2. Busse skinny ASH-1 w/ modded handle-my evolving "custom"
3. Benchmade 745 Mini-Dejavoo-slicer supreme

Two lists:

Assuming I can't have a multitool OUTSIDE of the list:

SAK Yeoman, 5.5 inch leuku pattern bushcrafter, 10-12 inch Rick Marchand bushbeater.

Assuming I can have a multitool that doesn't count

Leuku pattern bushcrafter, 5.5 inches.

Scandi necker with a 3 inch blade.

And that big bushbeater.

Currently Owned?
Benchmade 556
Bark River Canadian Camp in Antique Stag
Leatherman Wave

Fantasy-land?
Benchmade 940DM
Bark River Bravo-2 in Tan Burlap with black spacers
Wenger "Giant" Swiss Army Knife (ok, not really.)

It would be hard without a folder though..

First of all a sak Farmer, Then my K-bar kukri. Then this 6.3/4" fixed blade. These go with me any time I fish, hunt, bbq, and fight aliens. I may give up the sak for my case cv stockman:confused: Decisions.. decisions..

For my large knife it would be my Swamprat Chopweiler, although it's a close call with my Tracker......

My Mid knife would be either my JK Hiker or my Ratmandu.....

And my 3rd would be my Swiss Spirit.....

Hey pitdog,

I find it very interesting that you put the Tracker up there with your Chopweiler. A lot of people have badmouthed Trackers, but I reserved judgment. I got to handle 2 different Beck Trackers and I thought they had potential, but didn't have the opportunity to put them to work.

I know that it was reprofiled which increased it's efficiency

On a second note, I really like your Ratmandu and wished that they still made them and, of course, that I could afford it. Maybe down the road.

And, of course, you know I absolutely agree with your choice of the Swiss Spirit.

Doc

And Big Mike, your custom Bowie is awesome!

Would we have to count kitchen knives too? Because if so that already takes up 2 slots for me. And if I have to be honest with myself about the knives that I need in my life and work vs. the knives that I like, then those two kitchen knives get more use from me than anything else I own. The third knife/tool I'd pick would probably be the Swiss Spirit Tool.

If kitchen knives don't count then I'd choose a machete (haven't selected a preference yet), the Swiss Spirit, and one of my many custom 3-1/2" - 4" drop points.

1. Multitool: Leatherman wave
2. EDC/tactical folder: Spyderco Tenacious or something along those lines perhaps better steel. But I love full flat grind, it almost works for me in wood craft as well as my mora 2000 but I can't carry the mora everywhere. Woodcraft, gutting deer and small game- no problem.
3. Big knife: maybe my Kabar heavy bowie or my in the mail coming soon cold steel ghurka kukri.

All blades I own. Nothing fancy, but they have been tested by me and I know they work for me.

Current:

1) Kershaw Outcast (modified)
2) BM Fixed Grip (modified)
3) LM Skeletool

Grail:

1) Busse Mistress
2) Dozier Pro Guide
3) LM Wave (old style)

I'll play....

Big chopper - CS Laredo Bowie
Medium - BRKT Aurora (maybe the RC5 instead)
Little bugger - RAT Izula (maybe move the Aurora down here) A big knife can always do the work of a little knife, but never vice versa...

If we're talking sharp thing that aren't knives, then my Gransfors Bruks Wildlife Hatchet would also be in that kit, a RAT firekit... great now ya got me started. I don't wanna play anymore:grumpy:;):D

Great thread by the way:thumbup:

I could be set for the rest of my life with my Dozier PGK, my Dozier Straight Personal, and my BM 910HS.
