Which animal species do you fear the attack of most? Why?

For me it is the Chimp - not the most deadly, but the fact that they rip off your face, fingers and privates over quite a long period. I'd much rather be simply swollowed by a great white.

With a chimp you may have a chance of not being attacked, lots of humans own chimps. But if you are attacked, you're gonna get messed up.

For me I think some wild completely untameable animal causes more fear to me. A tie between a mountain lion and a bear.

Hmmmm. People say I start strange threads.

I fear no animal except maybe glockman and Esav. :D

Realistically? A rattlesnake. They're not exactly uncommon where my parents live outside Tucson. Neither are scorpions or black widows, but they won't do anything permanent. Scorpion stings will hurt like hell, and a black widow bite is apparently one of the most painful things a human can endure. But that pain passes. A rattlesnake's hemotoxic venom digests your flesh from the inside, and that will never heal properly even with surgery and grafts. Thankfully there's plenty of antivenin in the hospitals around here.

I guess there's some big kitties around here too. But at least those beasts I can stab with my steely knives.

But you just can't kill them...

Probably the creepiest crawlies around here are brown recluses and black widows. We don't have much in the way of dangerous large animals. Black bear and wild hogs mostly, and they don't bother folks much. I've heard of cougar/puma/mountain lion/whatever sightings, but never seen one myself. Snakes don't bother me. Just stay away from the sharp end.

I fear the Reaper...

Then the door was open and the wind appeared
The candles blew then disappeared
The curtains flew then he appeared...saying don't be afraid
Come on baby...and she had no fear
And she ran to him...then they started to fly
They looked backward and said goodby...she had become like they are
She had taken his hand...she had become like they are
Come on baby...don't fear the reaper

Cougar. Bears don't stalk you, and they atleast square off before they attack. Cougars, though definatley more rare, were relatively common where I grew up, and seeing warning signs posted on trails was pretty normal. Always stop and check behind you from time to time when hiking. Cats don't like it when their prey is aware of them.

Homo Sapiens - Wildly unpredictable, capable of inflicting incredible pain and suffering while not always dispatching you quickly. One of (if not the only) animal that derives pleasure from the torment and killing of other animals.

I am not too fond of black mambas. I saw a movie a number of years ago.

Man, hands down. Nothing else comes close, they seem to especially enjoy killing their own.

yeah im gunna have to say human beings...defiantly the most destructive virus/animal on the planet. were one of the few species that are capable of doing things just for the sake of doing them no real reason other than i felt like it. we can attack and kill maim and hurt because we are bored not because we are defending anything (other than pride at the most sometimes) human beings are defiantly the most dangerous animals...

Mainly shark. You just can't do anything if you happen to come across a shark and it decides you're lunch.

I'm gonna have to say the Jackalope...In Texas they have reaked more havock than any other cryptic animal. I have a friend that was once attacked by a jackalope and a vampire zombie possum at the same time! talk about horror! He chopped the head off the zombie possum four times but it just kept growing back until it ultimately swallowed him whole only to have the jackalope grab his feet at the last moment inadvertently saving his life. As the Possum and Jackalope fought over their meal, he escaped...I've had nightmares about this since.

I'm agreeing with the above on venom. A brown recluse will leave huge necrotic ulcers.

I can understand a big cat or bear chomping me, same with a shark - I am likely in their AO. Mr. Brown Recluse might be sitting in the shed, waiting for you to go get some gardening supplies this spring.

Going to have to go with Sharks. Humans are completely out of their element in water.

I don't fear anything, except for heights. I'm an alpha male.:D.
