Which animal species do you fear the attack of most? Why?

Realistically, the only critter that genuinely worries me are venomous spiders. Although the most scared I've ever been was hiking in Montana and I stumbled on a baby moose. I thought to myself. "Hmmm. That's a weird looking deer......" Then I heard some very loud crashing sounds coming from behind me. Momma Moose looked about 14 feet tall, and she was FAST! :eek:I don't think I've ever run so fast in my life. I don't think my feet were touching the ground, I turned into a cartoon for a minute there. :D

Bears and Cougars, to the point that I have only gone camping twice in my life :/ can't go in to the woods without being creeped out lol.

Just hold really, REALLY still (and don't call them Meece... they hate it when people call them Meece or Moose's).:D

I love snakes but they have given me a serious skrick on occasions. I caught a Mamba once, small one when I realised what I had death came to it as they have a vicious attitude and a not like other snakes that if you chuck it into the velt they don't bugger off and tend to return to get even. I have trod next to a puff adder and froze, that was a very nervous time as it didn't want to move.

Big cats, occasionly seen cheetah and leopard in the wild. Crossed a wier to fish on the other side and a leopard came down out of the tree I was previously under. Had a leopard nick our braai in the Kariba area, he had it planned out, when the meat was ready he would growl and when everyone had run for it come down from his tree and have dinner leaving the hosts with their beer in the back of their bakkies.

Puff adders and Gaboon Vipers are the worst for me, they don't move out the way of oncomeing people.

Redback spiders
Funnelweb spiders
Brown snakes
Tiger snakes
Red Bellied Black Snakes
Taipans
Death Adders
Blue Ringed Octopus
Box jellyfish
Stonefish
Great White shark
Saltwater crocodiles
Freshwater crocodiles

I'm sure I've left a few out.

.

Methinks you should move then.

Hippos....I have a profound fear for hippos.
They're highly territorial, get aggresive fast and that huge chumping mouth with 20"+ razor sharp tusks...

Even crocodiles steer clear from hippos...

Just talking about it sends a chill up my spine...

Does anyone know of a theory as to why there are so many deadly poisonous animals in/around Australia?

Because all the larger mammals died off for some reason.

My personal fear is sharks. Snake and spider bite fatalities are actually really uncommon in Australia due to modern antivenom. But Sharks.... sharks take swimmers and divers every year all around Australia. You can't run from then and swimming just makes you more attractive as a meal.
