Which Civivi knife is your favorite?

They're a bit hush-hush on what they're doing because of the cost effectiveness of it, from my research anyway. I think it's some type surface finish whether it's a well done laser thing or what, I have no idea. It has a bumpy texture to it on the sides and seems to be pretty durable from the use I have on my imperium. It's holding up better than many costings, almost like a DLC. Wonder if they do a DLC or similar high wear resistance coating and laser into it?

I don't think its true, folded over damascus like you would see from custom knifemakers. I suppose it could be a more complicated thing like damasteel, but I find it hard to believe civivi is making their own steel and are able to sell it for these prices. But, maybe it's possible.

It has the look, it works, and it's stainless.

I asked about this on their sub-forum. Their answer was:

"According to the information from Damascus supplier, the base materials of the Damascus is compound by 10Cr15CoMoV and 9Cr18MoV."

That is interesting to me. I've been happy with their 9Cr18Mov on its own. The other steel is effectively Chinese VG-10. They've used that on its own in a few knives now, including the recent Hadros. Just from Pete's testing on rope, performance is pretty close to regular 9Cr18Mov and that's not bad.

Thank you for the updated info. I'm really surprised this is actually a damascus, as Gary W. Graley Gary W. Graley also showed. Very cool they're able to offer it affordably and the performance is pretty nice for what you're getting, since the look is a big part of it. Knowing a little more about it, I may go after something else in it, like a rustic gent or that wharncliffe thing someone posted up earlier.

You people are enablers. After looking at all these pictures I really want a Damascus version of the Dogma now. I didn’t realize how beautiful it looks, it makes $300 Damascus knives look bad.

I won’t buy anything but Damascus now! Lol! And they make so many in Damascus it‘s hard to choose

I only have the Imperium, not bad knife, good action, I like the steel, holds good edge for whatever I'm doing with it.
Otherwise, I find it just a plain gentleman's folder for general use... IMO Civivi have few useful models but overall nothing that impresses me.
I purchase the knife only because was curious about the steel and I like it so far. Again for the fanboys - good knife for the price.
I like couple of the "damscus" models ( is is real damascus ?) and the traditional model with the bolster and micarta handle, that one I'll probably purchase in a future.

That’s a beautiful knife!

Thank you! It’s a decent gent’s folder IMO, good action, nice slim lines and nice steel - should be Nitro V,
l actually bought it so I can try the steel. Holds edge so far but I didn’t push it too much,
l only cut some boxes and plastic ties, scraped some glue from a tile once…Holds edge fine,
l’m happy.
