Which Company Makes The Best Chinese Knives?

Green Thorn with ease. Every other flipper company in the world needs to explain why Green Thorn can sell what they do for $80.
Green Thorn are clones. They don’t deserve to be mentioned with the other makers here.

Anthropos Damascus - CF overlay G10

BladeForums thread that discusses Civivi's 9cr-type Damascus, https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/civivi-naja-damascus-what-damascus-steel.1657634/

I wish the flipper stud was a little taller, you can just bairly see the stud in the lower picture, I really like how the blade opening triangle contours to the scale's contours both open and closed. One other small knock, it's a little thick in the scales.

I leave the main reason I don’t buy these out of it and just say I’m not a fan of the style or type of most of the Chinese knives. Most of them are framelock flippers which is probably my least favorite folder design. The other thing is a lot of them appear to be overly stylistic with too much going on in the design. I like knives a little more simple. I will admit that they look to be very well made and a good value, but not for me.

My chinese knives won't open unless I speck to them in chinese. And I don't know any chinese.

Funny no one has even mentioned Artisan Cutlery.

I've got 5 of them but the Waistline w/the kwaiken blade (the 1st I bought) is still my favorite. They are all made w/D2 on the cheaper end of their line and I've never had any staining/corrosion issues w/them (nor w/any M4 Spyderco blades either).

Liked AC initially for their designs but I think they have been surpassed by other Chinese knife makers in both quality of construction and design, especially in the "high end."

The only other knife made by a Chinese company (as opposed to knives made for American companies in China or Taiwan) is the Real Steel Megalodon which remains one of my favorite knives out of over 300.

Artisan makes some good stuff. I have a few, all are excellent knives and are as good as any. The Proponent is a beast, opens easily, locks up solid and slices very well for such a thick blade. I have a Waistline too, and its easily one of Artisans best efforts.

We knives has really impressed me. Their budget line imo is in the top 3 for budget knives. The folks at WE really seem to take pride in their product.

In addition to last years post, which included my WE Deacon and Massdrop Gent Select, I'll add my Civivi McKenna Damascus and A Purvis Progeny, which I believe is made by Bestech. Again, both are fantastic. The Progeny came with some sort of black goop in the pivot etc, but once I cleaned that out, CLP, it was great. In the last 6 months it has gone from good to great.

I have tried Chinese made knives from Spyderco, WE, CRKT, and many other brands over the years, and I have yet to be impressed. To be fair, I have never paid for a Reate, so by all means they may be amazing.

EDIT: I do have a Kizer Lancer fixed blade that I adore, however. It's the fit and function of the folding knives that I never really liked.

I would say hands down Sanrenmu. For the pennies they charge every single blade they make it incredibly well put together.

I don't know who A.G. Russell uses, but all of my AGR knives are very nicely done.

Kansept it turning out some good looking stuff now. Just ordered a mini kyro to try out.

Kizer... Good mid range

Civivi best budget knives.

We has good stuff but just hard to ever find anything

WE - Just received this limited edition Fornix two days ago. Impressive fit and finish. Steel is 20CV and very thin BTE, about 16 thousandths. Fires out with authority, but "shake" shut (just the way I like it). While the monochrome black DLC isn't my first choice, it is done very well. The color is graphite gray rather than black. This is my first WE branded knife and if they keep coming up with simple designs like this, it won't be my last.

Ruike knives are awesome. $29 will get you a smooth frame lock flipper on bearings. 14C28N steel. It feels legit too - good edge retention, and sharpens like 14C28N.

They have more expensive knives, but I think the majority of them are under $100.

Your watch is awesome! Where did you get it?

It's one of Invicta's Star Wars series. Only 1977 made. I've had it for two years, don't remember where I got it, but it was ~$125 I believe.

It's got a good story to it. I normally wear a limited edition Swatch Irony Diaphane watch that weighs like an ounce.

When I had my two strokes in December 2018, I lost much of the use of my right arm, in addition to the muscle loss from not eating for 6 weeks because of the cancer. Being left handed, I figured this massively heavy Star Wars would be perfect to gain strength back. I don't wear it all that often anymore due to that weight now. Mostly because I injured a nephew with it while wrestling.
