Which folder of yours locks open like a FB??

my folders with the best lock up are the emerson CQC12, strider SnG, spyderco Ti ATR and my custom emerson CQC8.

i would have to say my latest find.... buck crosslock lim/prod 1997 in ss. locks so hard and solid it "pops" like a firecracker! to heavy to really carry tho

BM 710 and a Kershaw Ti Bump. The framelock on the Kershaw is exceptional, absolutely no wiggle anywhere. Ditto for the 710 and the axis lock- one of the most solid folders I've owned.

Out of my near 60 good knives (benchmade, spyderco, kershaw mostly) most any lock open solid enough. Dark Ops fighter locks open very solid, Kershaw ti bump no wiggle, any axis type lock feels great. One that I just bought (because its low priced) that I am not crazy about it being a Taiwan knife, but I have to say this AK-47 from Cold Steel with the axis type lock does lock open as tight as any. Impressive for a 55 dollar knife.

I'd be unhappy if I bought any knife that had any blade play. That used to be the sign of a really cheap folder if the blade wasn't tight. You hardly see any knives today with blade play. Not to say you can't loosen them by hard use. But out of the box I think any are tight. I got a 30 dollar Gerber gator lockback that's dead tight. I'm not into doing a lot of abusive stuff with any knife. If I want to get down on something, I'll use an ax, hatchet, saw or machete. To me a knife is for cutting.

I could never convince myself to fully trust ANY folder to NEVER close when I didn't want it to. Give me a full tang fixed blade with some "meat" to it for that sort of trust. If I had to choose which of my folders I'd trust the most, it would be my Buck/Strider 880 SP.

Spyderco Lil Temperance. It's design gives it some extra strength over typical folders it's size and weight. They're difficult to find now though. Leaf bladed flat grind S30V,an excellent cutter. A "trailing point" (we call it Rhino horn) in 440V/S60V, one of the best uses of 440V I've seen. Joe

I have three. My Spydie Kbit is a framelock that just makes you feel good when you hear that definative loud click. My SOG Pentagon Elite 2 has an ARC lock that seems to convert a folder to a fixed blade and my Buck Strider 880 once I got the liner broke in is wonderfull because the liners are so freaking thick on the lock you feel like you have a 2x4 in your hands.
